so many good memories of that place. Back in the 60ies, you could walk in there and find probably 50 to 100 gals working the place. The better looking ones got individual tables while those less well endowed sat along the side lines. You got a pleasant smile from everyone as you walked by, and maybe even a sit down invite. Met some lovely gals there, in particular one name Lee who became a regular when I moved to Vancouver in the 70's. Ended up in town one night and slept in a hotel which used to be corner of Georgia and Hornby, kitty korner to Fairmount. As I walked in the room the message light on the phone was blinking, but no message. That night in Vancouver was totally unplanned, and no one would have been calling me. Went to sleep, within hour phone rang and a gal said "this is the gal who ate your steak at the Penthouse last night, can I come over". I had $25 in my pocket, enough to get to airport in the morning, and didn't expect this. i said yes, not realizing what I was saying, and within a few minutes in came this gorgeous gal. Had to explain the hard luck story and let her go, but it gave me a place to visit next time in Vancouver. Spent many a night there. Lots of good memories. Missed it when it went straight.
