I am curious if there is any software out there that will allow me to download an arbitary number of threads off a discussion board for offline browsing?

I need it because most of the time I dont have an internet connection, therefore I'd very much like to download perb's posts for off line browsing, can this be done?

Shak,

If you right click on the thread title and then choose "Save Target As" (IE), or "Save Link Target As" (Netscape), it would take you a couple of minutes to save a couple of dozen threads. A bit cumbersome to do it this way, but it works. I have no idea if there is software out there to make it easier.

I actually found it:Wget. It downloads recursively all the threads. fairly easy to use. There are other choices too, such as HHtrack or something like that, do a search on google and you should be able to find it.

I don't know how the fuck he did it but a well known/respected/computer savvy/long since gone perbert had something set up on his PC that when he was online it automatically (I assume it was automatic since it would have a pain in the arse to do it manually) cached a copy of all the threads.

When he went to review the content it appeared as though he was surfing live.....pretty cooleo

I just tried HHtrack (freeware) on a World Sex Guide thread that I wanted to save. Worked perfectly. Then tried it on a sight with a lot of Jpgs. Did a really quick job of downloading the entire site to work offline. Thanks shak.

I think, I know who you are talking about .... he did recover couple of threads that were gone. There is one other poster who had similar setting. He cached all PERB, and any post 5 seconds after it was posted, was saved on his system. But it was the "old" PERB, there is no plans to update it to new version.
