I'm looking for a solution for a phone system that can handle 20 incoming phone lines (or more). What kind of hardwarde do I need to accept and handle all these lines (which will be VOIP) ? I don't need any stuff like voicemail, auto attendents, nothing. Just 20 plain lines that can go to one phone that can handle it. I'm thinking about some sort of hub that the 20 lines will input on, then output to one phone capable of having that many different incoming lines. Can anyone help? Does such a set up exist? I have no idea what I'm doin, but gunna do it anyways :)

I would recommend not using analog phone lines for something of this scale, and instead get a PRI from the phone company. A PRI is a digital phone line (really just a T1) that will support 23 simultaneous phone calls over a single pair of wires (one cable).

You can get a PRI card, and as the other poster suggested use Asterisk (or Trixbox). I like the Sangoma cards with echo cancellation.

If you do really want to use analog lines, you can buy hardware to terminate them to a SIP (VoIP) box, but analog lines are more trouble then they're worth.
