So will Canadian society change over the legalization of pot? Will we see people on street corners smoking the plant?

Will there be an increase in smoking and driving?

My concern will be the brain development of young people (under 18), who will probably have more access to pot then before....

Look left. Way left.
Nothing to worry about......if young people want pot they can get it easy enough now.......if they want to stay legal, booze will destroy brain cells as fast as pot.

Most people interested in smoking pot are already doing so. You will have the occasional person trying it because it will be legal but things will move along like they always have. Only difference the government will be taking their cut from legal sales, and from clamping down harder on illegal sales and drivers.

In all honesty, I don't think much will change in Vansterdam. Where things will get different is in the bedroom communities, suburbs & the south side of the Fraser River, just as an example. Shoppers Drug Mart has applied for a licence, so will I be able to pick up a package of prerolls at the same time as I 'm buying toothpaste & condoms? It will be much more convenient than traveling to Richmond to see a guy about a thing, that's for sure. I also agree that where we are much more likely to see a focus is on ensuring people don't drive high.
