I'm just wondering how prevalent (i.e. percentage of clients) no shows have been lately. With busy SP's, this could easily rob the lady (and another potential client) valuable appointment time. I've never done it but I wonder what the studios do to minimize this occurence...

Is this where call display comes in to screen or track down "nuisance" appointments?

I agree but there is not to much you can do just hope the guy has enough courtesy to phone and cancel (which is not the cause most of the time) I don't really have that problem but I don't agree with double booking I would never do that....:p

This is a great post as today I had 2 no shows. Not cool guys, all I ask is that if you either cannot make it or are running late just give the studio a quick call so the girl knows what's going on. :(

I think the busy studios get enough drop-in clients that if a scheduled appointment is a no-show, they can usually pick up the drop-in session. If I was an SP, I would use the 15-minute rule: if the guy's 15 minutes late with no call, I take the drop-in client. And as a client, I would be cool with that.

I also find that even the busy studios and busy SPs can afford the personal touch: if you are a regular of an SP and she recognizes your name and/or number, you will probably get a little more leeway to be late than, say, someone named "Mike" who calls in on a blocked number (no offense to the Mikes out there). And if the girls in the studio have worked together long enough to have a rapport with each other, you will get the benefit of the doubt even if your SP is not the one answering the phone.

As for percentages, I have no idea, but it wouldn't surprise me if there are guys out there who double-book as well, calling and making multiple appointments so they have the flexibility of going to whichever one they want. Which sucks, but again that's why I wouldn't expect a girl to wait more than 15 minutes if no call.

should only be given 5 minutes leeway if they're late for appointments - this will give the more reliable regulars a chance to see the busy SP's (especially those that are booked solid on most days)...
