as the owner and sole policy maker in my company, I have decided that I am implementing immediately an Anti-Fudd policy. I will never hire Fudd (he's going to get fired sooner or later). While I may not know Fudd's real identity now, with every potential employee I am now sending their names to Interpol to get a complete outline of their internet history. I will find you Fudd, believe that. Plus, as I am the head of a Fortune 500 company, i will spread your name around so you can't get hired anywhere. The chances of an employee with rather radical beliefs going off in the workplace is huge. I want to protect my employee's dammit.

yes, this is all bullshit, but so is Fudd's argument.

on the lighter side (or maybe not)

The buildings on the campus of a company I used to do business with in Houston, had signs stating that guns were not allowed in the building and to please check them at the security desk. I wish I had asked how many people actually check their guns?

But a lunatic that can easily get a gun is really dangerous and can kill alot of innocent people and its best to make sure guns are really hard to get.

Why not just un-do the mess the NDP made..

Re-open the psych hospital and lock up all the lunatics in it.

Of course, I can see why YOU would have a problem with that plan..

So Fudd, did you do the honorable thing and resign out of the bad press you will eventually be bringing upon your company due to your pooning habit

How did the owner take it when you told him why you had to resign, after all, your logic dictates your resignation. Hope you told the truth.

Hopefully it was immediate and no notice given, as your clock is ticking........
Don't forget his pellet gun. A kid in Surrey was KILLED with a pellet gun.

I'm sure that the writing is on the wall for anyone working for that company who owns a pellet gun.

Life is full of risk and there are tons of ways to kill people. You can be killed with a gun, a knife, a car, a turnip, fast food, propane tanks, etc... hell you can be killed just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Society is in no danger from guns, society is in danger from repressive laws and politicians who see their constituents as a threat.

But a lunatic that can easily get a gun is really dangerous and can kill alot of innocent people and its best to make sure guns are really hard to get.
Don't paint all gun owners as lunatics, for ever lunatic there are thousands of responsible gun owners and there are legitimate reasons to own a gun. There are areas of Canada where owning a gun is almost a necessity, if you are in the Northern Territories you need a gun for food and to protect yourself polar bears.

For every person killed by a gun there are hundreds killed by bad drivers.

Actually it's THOUSANDS killed by bad drivers for every one killed by a gun ...

Somehow, the thought of Fudd being killed at work by a turnip wielding lunatic is poetic justice...

Your right me bad.

and you can be killed by a turnip

Police say a 56-year-old man was fatally injured by a turnip hurled from a passing car, and that there have been nearly two dozen other instances of assault with fruits and vegetables.

At an inquest on Monday, Detective Superintendent Graham Howard said the death of Leslie Merry was being investigated as a murder.Merry was hit by a turnip while he was shopping in east London on July 14. He suffered a punctured lung and a rib was broken in three places. His condition worsened after he was released from the hospital two days later. He was readmitted the next day and died on July 23.

Dr. David Rouse, a pathologist, testified that Merry died of a ruptured spleen, caused by the impact of the turnip, and of acute respiratory failure and chronic pulmonary disease.

Price said a healthier man might have survived the blow.

Howard said there have been a number of incidents in east London in which fruits and vegetables had been tossed from speeding vehicles. In April, he said, a jogger was hit by a cabbage.

I'd rather be a gun nut.. the a closed minded bigot... I can't believe that a company would enact a discriminatory policy based on a legal activity...

Owning guns is legal.. heck shooting them is too in the right places...

Sounds like some people have an unnatural fear...

And hammers, knives, trucks, high places, explosive gases and who knows what else are absolutely safe!!!

Guns are a tool... no more no less.. Until you start blaming the car for drunk driving and the penis for rapes then your argument is both illogical and unsupportable...

The danger is the the mind of those that possess them...
I'm guessing;
  • you've never shot a gun before..
  • Have no idea what it takes to get licensed in this country

You seem to take great pride in persecuting a person becuase of what he owns are you going to make sure anybody that has stock in GM doesn't work for your company next or maybe pinto drivers since those pinto's are very dangerous...

Well Panther I'd have to disagree with you...The law abiding gun owner who has registered weapons is within their rights , and legal boundries.
If they have registered long guns, and registered hand guns, they are within their rights as a Canadian Citizen to posses them ...They are targeting people who have followed the law, done the courses, and have the permits...And discriminating against them for their gun owning practices, that are not only legal, but fall within societies view as responsible.
I own many guns of various calibers, and I have many handguns...I also have the unusual permit to carry a handgun. The permit is very clear, and I cannot carry within city limits, and must be reviewed every year.
Taking a gun of any kind to a work place is unacceptable, and those people need to be dealt with in the full extent of the law. I am also self employed, so I won't see myself under the hiring microscope, or feel the discrimination companies stated in this thread, are considering imposing upon legal gun owners.
If I register my firearms, and follow the law, as the Government has laid out....I should never be discriminated against.
Yet if I choose to hurt or harm someone with those weapons that I have been entrusted with, to own with responsible intentions...There should be special places in prison, for those offenders.
Guns are a crucial tool in some occupations like mine, and are very deadly. Some people consider me to be an expert with one, and perhaps I am,...I have been trained by our Military to use both firearms ,and edged weapons. I have put that to practice defending our country, and my own life, or the lives of others.
I am fortunate enough to have put that behind me, and have a quiet life of Ranching, that requires me to own....Legal ....Firearms.
