No surprises? Some client sexually assaults her, she gets pregnant and has to have an abortion. I would say that’s a bit of a surprise.

I remember years ago I was at an agency and the girl was talking about doing her taxes, the agency she was with was helping her. Also I know one SP who actually is an accountant. As far as I know escorting wasn't illegal before bill C-36, it was crap related to it, like brothels and pimps. Escorts wanted the law to be changed for drivers, who helped with their safety etc... Bill C-36 made it harder to advertise and made it illegal for the johns.
