I can't believe this. There is no Canadian team in the second round of playoffs. Then, I realized 3 teams who survived to the second round are from very warm places that never get snow like LA, Phoenix, and Nashville. St. Louis barely gets snow either. What's wrong with this picture? I would love to see Habs vs Canucks in the Stanley cup someday!

I would throw up if the Habs played the Canucks for the cup! Fortunately that will never happen!

Welcome to the dead puck era, chapter two
it's messed up this year. the west is gonna be a snoozefest, so won't care about what team makes it till the cup final. the east is more interesting, but that still isn't saying much. throwing on my philly bandwagoner cap just b/c they still play an up-tempo game. i hope it's the preds/flyers in the finals just so it'll be exciting.

I thought St. Louis got a lot of snow in the winter?

Either way, I don't think there will be a lot of goals scored in the second round of the playoffs in the west. There are some amazing goalies playing in those two series.

Cheer for the Phoenix Coyotes, they have more Canadians on their roster (15 I think) than the rest of the NHL teams that are still in the playoffs.
That might be true. I'm not sure. But they play such boring hockey I could never cheer for them.

I'd like to see a Rangers/Flyers against Kings Stanley Cup.

the next canadian team to win or play in finals may well be the Coilers.... hate em ....but they are slowly loading up with some young talent.
will be a long haul for Habs and Loafs to re-build and the Cansucks are now in the downward spiral , and will be fighting for 8th spot next year.

Totally. I call it the MHL (Mediocre Hockey League). One 100 point scorer, two 50 goal scorers and only four 40 goal scorers. That's pathetic. This season only two players achieved what I would call superstar status and they were Evgeni Malkin and Steven Stamkos ( basing this on the ability to score 50 goals and/or 100 points). But then again I grew up watching hockey in the 80s and 90s, so I was a little spoiled when it came to scoring.

I blame the NHL squarely on this one, all the rule changes post lock out are not being enforced any more. The clutching and grabbing are back with a vengeance, speed and skill are once again taking a backseat to size and brawn.

Downward Spiral? LOL are you fucking kidding me... The Top team in the NHL 2 years in a row "Presidents Trophy" winners with a ton of depth in the organization

BJ , for someone who brags about his hockey savvvy , someone forgot to tell you that the Presidents trophy means jack shit.
The real trophy that real teams play for is called the Stanley Cup Trophy.
After the Presidents Trophy is won the real hockey games start and thats when the Canucks start getting invisible.
they always seem to call losing in playoffs as running into a hot goal tender , and ours does not ever get hot , but the problem seems to be lack of goals from the Presidents trophy winners.
Depth you say ? hmmmm.... oh yes , Higgins , Kesler , Booth , Kassian , Hansen , .....yep , all big depth playoff contributors....hehehehhe, your living in denial BJ .
