The oilers are all we Canadians have left ....again!! What a shocker, eh? Place the American stamp on Lord Stanley again. No surprise now after all these years.

That Cup Winning Colorado team from Last season was something else. No team in this years playoffs had the speed, passing and often times Harlem Globetrotter passing that team had. You can see if that group had kept together and healthy they were going to win it again this year.

Yeah, I thought the Avs last year were decent winners. And yet, they're 1st round goners this time.
The paper today had a "Leafs must make deep and painful changes because they lost" article. 2nd round of the playoffs is not as shitty as no playoffs at all. But this is what the Leafs media & fans always do. They imagine themselves as God's Own Team if they make the playoffs at all, their star players are Jesus and His Apostles, fans boasting at every opportunity, then they plan the Cup parade as soon as they do not get blown out in 4 straight. Then from that euphoric high, comes the dismal crash when they lose and are eliminated. No "well, good try boys", just pure existential angst and bitter tears. That Messiah Complex they have going in, followed by the apocalyptic doomsaying when their team proves human after all. Bah.

F'N bullshit! I'm so sick of NHL hockey. 30 years ago was the last a Canadian team won the Stanley Cup. Pathetic!! Hockey is officially over for me.

Yeah, the NHL is a fucking shit show. Dallas versus Vegas, Carolina versus Florida. Bettman must be creaming his diapers.
But for everyone else, every legit place where hockey actually comes from, another year of "Who the fuck even cares?"
It happens now and then when much lower placed than expected teams get to the finals. The team needs to be peaking coming into the playoffs and needs that extra toughness to keep on going. No way I paid attention to Florida all season. In fact I don't think I watched even one of their regular season games but holy moly, are they ever playing winning hockey!!
