Gotta disagree with you on this one buddy.
Yes, pound for pound the players in the NFL are better and they do the game day experience/production very well but as for entertainment value and the excitement of the game the CFL kicks the NFL's ass. And there is more than one NFL quarterback who can't make that wide side throw on a 65 yard wide field the way Bo Levi can.
Most NFL games, with the exception of when Aaron Rogers throws one of his Hail Mary's, are over half was through the 4th quarter if one of the teams has a +7 point lead while in the CFL no lead is safe. While the football purists out there may poo-poo a game where you can drive the field with 90 seconds on the clock, I as a fan watching the game love it.
I have numerous friends in the US who I have turned on to the CFL and with ESPN carrying a number of the games or satellite viewing they love it. When the start watching, they are confused and intrigued by some of the quirky rules (the rouge) but that is what makes our game unique. To a person, they admit the game itself is way more entertaining.

I compare it to watching the Blue Jays versus our Winnipeg Goldeyes. Sure the Blue Jays are the big show and if you are the type of person who can only enjoy watching a game with top end talent then that's fine. But for my money, sitting in Shaw Park on a July evening, with a cold beer, watching our independent AA team score 4 runs in the bottom of the 9th to win is just as exciting and entertaining as any BJ's game I've ever been to.

Cheers

i think its the cheer leaders, that is why soo many of you guys are dallas fans

i can't think of any other reason why any one would be a dallas fan.

seriously people are hooked on live nfl games. too many commercials. ya there are a few die hards. but a lot of people have stopped watching games, 3 hours plus. is the reason
you must not have a life, to watch nfl in live format who has the time. too many other things to do besides waste your life in front of a t.v to watch more then one game.

sunday comes along i tape every game. i go about my day, do all things, play with wife kids grandkids go shopping etc etc,
everyone goes to bed, i zip through the games, before my bed. depending on the game you can zip through one in 15 minutes, if its an interesting game, longer, my team my draft pics,
playing time is only an hour. so if its a real good game, zip through everything you can see every play one hour compared to three or pushing four.

Honestly, I didn't watch much NFL football the last couple of years but this year it's been pretty good. The reason I stopped watching it was because what I call "flag football", meaning that every second play, a penalty was called. It was unwatchable. No flow or continuity. This lead to me to watch more college games where in most games they call 6-10 penalties on average for the whole game. If they let them play and stop being so ticky-tacky, it will be a lot more watchable.

One thing that doesn't seem to get alot of press is that alot of people are cancelling their cable television entirely. Television used to be a very inexpensive relatively high quality entertainment option without alot of competition with what it offered. Now it costs an arm and a leg compared to years past, and even though they force you to take 300+ channels at the end of the day only a handful of channels are even worth watching regularly.

Now there's the internet, youtube, Netflix and other programming that is online, plus the increase in the cost of cable now makes other non-video options as entertainment competitors where in years past they weren't, and there are people now shutting it off and finding out that life still goes on without having to watch Friends or see Kim Kardashian's ass on the television every fucking day.
