The humidity of the air plays the largest part - so saying Saskatchewan is cold at -30C, ok, yes it’s cold as fuck, but with dry air it isn’t nearly as bone chilling as a -10C here with almost 90% damp humidity. The dry air while brisk doesn’t seem to linger like the air does here.

I saw this forecast a few weeks ago and booked a flight to Palm Springs...now I hope Allegiant doesn't decide to cancel due to 'weather', lol

Kamloops B.C.
I live at 3000 feet.......when I visit the lower Mainland at -2 with a breeze, it's a total dick- shrinker, even though your at sea level.
I know the old wood stove in my house will keep things warm, but once we hit about -12 the moisture freezes outta the air.
When that happens, as long as there's no wind to suck the warmth out of the house logs, it's easy to heat the house.
My biggest worry is keeping the giant dogs from leaning on the sides of the glowing stove, as they sit there to keep warm.
When we hit -30, as we are supposed to in awhile....you can hear the logs twisting and curling in towards the warmth of the stove.

Personally I can’t wait for global warming to kick in. Supposed to get down to -35 or so in my local.

You can keep an old cast iron water kettle on your stove, it will keep a bit of moisture in the air making it easier to breathe.

It's been happening in Australia for quite some time now. I expect you'll be unhappy when it comes to your neighbourhood.
I would say that’s up for debate. I sure will be unhappy when global warming gets to my neighborhood, if it doesn’t get to -35 anymore, don’t know what I would do that kind of temperature is just so invigorating. Think I’ll move to the South Pole so I can keep enjoying it.

From what I’m experiencing these days global warming sounds like a lot of bullshit. Maybe Greta Thunberg needs to come back and hold an outdoor global warming rally. See how many people come out lol.
