Return them to their countries instead of holding them in concentration camps. And its not JUST immigrants, it is drug users and transgendered as well sex workers.

Are you saying you support what they are doing in Greece?
Returning them to their country of origin is not that easy because often those countries don't want them back or dispute that they are citizens. The greeks aren't keeping them in the camps because that is how they get their jollies, they are keeping in the camps because they have no where to send them and they don't want them living on Greek streets. Might I remind you that Canada basically did the same thing when all those boat people arrived a few years back.

IIRC the laws they made involved illegal immigration. They made a subsequent similar law for drug users, basically to force them to go cold turkey. It is not the same thing. As far as transgendered and sex workers are concerned, how sure are you that part is real and not made up in internet land?

@the Meat Market!!!lol
"Creating awareness" without understanding and without clarity leading to "action" is quite dangerous, Susi. I always read what you write with suspicion since I do not think you really analyze your own premises. Your constant advocacy for sex workers no matter the circumstances has become predictable and, quite frankly, rather superficial. You do play to a rather limited audience. No longer impressed.
thanks for the insults,it made my day. i guess engaging all levels of government, sex workers, clients, feminists, acedemics, students and generally dedicating the last 11 years of my life would be "superficial".

and the lack of clarity leading to action...? like the VPD enforcement policy we helped to create and put in place? like the occupational health and safety materials we developed? and the materials for those who have been the victims of crime and the judicial processes we engaged in?

i fail to see where we have a lack of clarity leading to action...? we have have clearly engaged in many actions with tangible results. you seem confused....

the analysis of the "premise" comes from my community. sex workers. i follow their direction and work for the goals set out by them.

thanks though, its nice to feel appreciated!

There is some considerable backlash in Athens (in Piraeus) with North Africans. That's because they just wonder the streets unemployed all day, through no fault of their own. They'd love to fit in more, but Greece is still pretty racist.
You can throw in the UK and France. Having been to both recently, you see quite a bit of immigrant-related crime. African and ME immigrants are the ones hanging out at the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and all the other tourist spots with little trinkets and shit. Also saw quite a bit of commotion on the subway lines, etc. Two African grifters (and a third, I think) got my buddy's wallet after staging a 'fight' in a subway car.

Like anywhere else, crime isn't restricted to immigrants or by race - but Europe is struggling with a combination of immigrants with few prospects for making a life, combined with depressed economies that throw everybody off.
