As someone new to the forums I've been disheartened reading over reviews. We all know the sex industry should be legalized, but in the absence of government support I somehow expected more community cohesion in a place like Victoria. People in and around the industry supporting each other and setting standards. All participants adhering to an unwritten of code of conduct about how to behave - to keep law enforcement at bay, gain some tacit support from the public, keep people safe and healthy, and support those who provide a vital service in a society that doesn't appreciate them.
What I'm seeing is more like the wild west. The forums feel like a pack of wolves on the prowl looking for fresh meat. There are some considerate and kind folks out there but the group mentality on here is often toxic, and there are people who are emboldened by it. There seem to be very few providers active on these forums. Why is that?
I'm also disturbed at how little regard there is for STIs/STDs. So many people looking for an unsafe encounter, including from those that don't advertise such, and then gladly reporting on their experience.
An "industry" that is all about the most intimate forms of human interaction needs to care more about one another. It's possible in a city this size. These forums seem like to a good place to start.
