That's only "skim" patience, really. I've had a bottle of 1961 Chateau Latour (a bordeaux of a significant vintage year) nestled among some other aging joys, since purchasing that bottle in the early 80's. Early in the NY my patience is scheduled to be terminated. Conventional wisdom says the longer we leave these extra special joys, the more enjoyable the consumption. Lordy, I'm looking forward to the act!

I'm working on a bottle of their 15 yr old right now that damn good but have never tired the 21 yr old.....its a frickin exercise in patience to not open it now!

Not sure yet. Might just end up at one of my favorite watering holes if they're not sold out of tickets. If not, it will be too nut-shrinking cold to watch the fireworks. So if all else fails, I'll just watch Dick Clark, drink myself into a stupor and cry myself to sleep.

61 Latour! Now that's tasty! Kinda puts to shame the nice selection of 91 Napa Cabs in large formats (mags & double mags) I'll be cracking open for a new years party; Silver Oak, Cain Five, Dunn & Heitz (Bella Oaks, no Martha's that year)
