i dont post a lot but every now and then i add a comment or two.. so here is my comment on the subject.. cost of living goes up and thats a fact.. in two years in my condo has gone up nearly $70,000 in value yet its the same building.. we are lucky (translation: spoiled) here on the island with the rates we pay for the company of some of the most beautiful women in the world in one of the greatest cities in the world.. depending on your frequency of pooning $20 a visit is not that much.. its only a crime if the lady you choose does not satisfy your desires.. so choose wisely gentlemen.. don't compare prices in alberta with victoria.. its apples and oranges.. they have more money out there but everything costs more (its all relative).. and you wouldn't be able to live in this Utopia.. i haven't seen too many SPs here but the ones i have seen have been amazing with a few exceptions.. i see one exclusively now and she is amazing (except if she is out of town for too long then i will stray for an indescretion, then feel guilty, then go back upon her return).. be specific when you call an agency and you should be happy.. i recommend CA or CCE.. Lahra at CA has never let me down with finding the right girl.. the best in town is Ashley (indy).. NEVER a bad session.. again choose wisely gentlemen

Let's keep some perspective here folks. What do you think a doctor or lawyer is making per hour? Sp's can easily equal or surpass the salaries of a doctor or lawyer. The providers are paid exceptionally well regardless, especially if indy. Thank god competition keeps the prices from skyrocketing in this industry. Also, why do you think there are so many girls working as Sp's? Cuz it's a pretty sweet gig for them as long as they can keep clean, and fly straight.

I believe in the free market and of course the ladies can choose to charge whatever they like for whatever service they are wanting to provide. I think this is the first time I have seen such a simultaneous chorus of increase in prices amongst agencies and indys here in town at the same time. I haven't seen too many offer old prices to previous clients -- are there any that are doing that other than Gina? For the short term I'll probably be less likely to pay new prices for someone I haven't seen here in Victoria and will probably be more inclined to partake in the hobby a bit more when I am over in Vancouver.

My "2 hour special" is intended to keep the price the same for familiar clients, who usually see me for 2 hours anyways.

I agree with athaire: a woman's value is what you are willing to pay for the use of her services. Some have a higher value than others.

Mia for example. I would be willing to pay $300 for an hour of her time given the wonderful things that have been said about her but I'm afraid she would be uncomfortable with an "old fart" like me, therefore I don't see her.

And don't forget that SPs are independent contractors and they can charge whatever they believe the market will pay.

A recent UVIC (University of Victoria) Study concluded that the average S.P. in Victoria earned $18,000.00 per year!

I wonder where they got their information from. $18000.00 a year at $200hr is roughly one guy every 4 days. I am willing to bet that the girls are alot busier than that.

My 2¢ on this indy chicks can charge what they want and as for SU increasing the rates I just hope most of that extra $20 goes to the chicks as I always rounded it up to $200 anyways so if the agency fee is cutting into that cash more it kinda sucks for the girls.

As for agencies the going rate is to take 40%.. so I too hope things have changed and that is no longer the case but you would need to ask an agency to find out how much more they will be making from the rate increase.. This is why I am able to charge what I wish as an indy... Yes I do have higher costs than an agency lady but I feel I do charge what I am comfortable charging...

Coco......I will have you know, I take less than 40%. Yes you do have higher costs than an agency lady, but you also don't pay an agency fee. You strictly pay your costs only. As you already know, agency ladies pay a fee because they are being provided with phone services, advertising, furniture, a location, as well as safety.

As I have had Ladies Email me saying I am undercutting and causing problems I am going to up my prices..

So what your saying is that because you charge lower rates your getting bullied into raising them by others that feel there should be a fixed rate in this market? I think that there is room for all and that you should be able to charge what you want, capitalism at its best. I think that is bullshit, if you want more by all means raise your prices but to do it due to pressure from others is ridiculous.

Coco, I as i'm sure all the other pooners would love you to post the names of those that are emailing you about your choice to charge what you like.
Really if your "Independant" then you should be able to charge what you like.
So I say post their names so others can boycott them if they so choose, umless it is all and exscuse to up your rates?

My 2 cents.

I've charged $200 since going indy last year when I had others suggest charging $250. With rates going up I have been contemplating raising them as well.

What I have decided to do, is instead of charging more for the same experience, I'll have 2 different hourly rates .

My regular GFE will stay at $200, casue I am comfortable with that. A more open minded GFE will be $250 (I'll post the details with my schedule).

In regards to Coco recieving emails, that's really too bad. I think you should charge what you are comfortable with regardless of what anyone else thinks or says. We're all in this together & there's enough of a market for a variety of prices & services .

I alway have a better time if i pay the premium rates if that means $400-$500 for 2 hours of heven then it has always been well worth the money.

Think About This..

So they say for every person that puts something in print it represents many more who feel the same but don't write the words.
That said read what I am now going to write...
I will still poon even if the prices go up and you know those spikeing the prices know that there will always be someone to pay what they want. That said I will be pooning far less than before and will be far more selective. If I spent 6 browns a month before on the hobby it will be less now for sure. Hell this rise in prices may bring back the street scene to the glory days of Gov't and Broughton.
Anyway that is my last weigh in on this thread but I will leave us all with a perspective, "It is better to make a quick nickle than a slow dime"

Me thinks the ladies that provide good service and DO NOT raise their rates will benefit from what is taking place. To be successful do the opposite of the masses in my experience.
