OK, I don't like them. They just look silly. Some players like them but most don't. I think they are the Cooperalls of 2005. What do you think?

What ever happened to CCM and Koho? There may be a place for space-aged fashion in basketball shoes but leave hockey the fuck alone.

Just my opinion. I know it is a fact of life these days, but anything with a Nike Corporate Logo on it does not get much attention from me. When it comes to national team uniforms, the simpler the better; teams play better as underdogs. All this fancy-smancy stuff isn't really canadian in my view. Being respected the way we are in international hockey, Canada has a great opportunity to buck the corporate trend.

Didn't at one time the Women's National Team was all white?
Nike should stick to getting their stuff made at third world countries and charge an arm and leg for them.

Are those leg warmers?

In a nice wet pussy!
I can see where they got the red and white, but what does black mean? And the overall graphics are grotesque to say the least. They are going to draw lots of chuckles when they get to Torino, right next to the heart of the Italian fashion district in Milan. :D

It should not come as a shock when placed alongside our quaint Ilaanaq the Inukshuk...

Slim-fit jerseys not a hit
Olympic team hopefuls say the new Nike gear is too tight

Gary Kingston
Vancouver Sun

KELOWNA -- Nike is one of the world's great marketers. But it's going to have to do a heck of a selling job on NHL players bound for the Olympics after the Turin 2006 hopefuls got their first feel of the new lightweight, form-fitting Swift jersey and socks.

Most of the players at the Olympic orientation camp wore the apparel for the first period of Thursday's scrimmage at Prospera Place. The initial reviews were less than enthusiastic.

"They weren't my cup of tea," said Todd Bertuzzi, the 240-lb. winger from the Vancouver Canucks. "It took four guys to try to put it on me at the start. They couldn't quite get it over my stomach. They look like something you'd wear to a bar maybe with a pair of jeans."

Hulking defenceman Chris Pronger wore his old-style practice jersey the entire scrimmage.

"I didn't wear the tight one, I was one of the smart ones. I tried it on, it didn't fit very well. We need to make some tailoring adjustments."

What about the socks?

"They were a little tight, too," said Pronger. "My foot was going a little numb, that thing was so tight."

Head coach Pat Quinn, who is clearly from the old school of jersey design, wasn't in a mood to play Mr. Blackwell.

"I don't answer political questions," he cracked when asked to give his review.

Told everyone else had taken shots at the new look, Quinn relented somewhat: "It's different," he said, shaking his head. "I don't have to wear them."

The white socks are going to make the red line on the shin appear on TV like the width of the leg. The tight fit makes no sense in a sport requring so much twisiting/lunging/stretching movement despoite how much it stretches.

Everytime I look at that picture it pisses me off more. What the fuck were those idiots at Nike thinking? I know what they were thinking - let's combine hockey gear with speedskating gear. Errrrr - fuckers.

The New Jerseys Are Completely Gay

Nike.......................typical. They have some gay designer who knows nothing about hockey, but figures if all his gay friends like tight fitting clothing then hockey stars must like them too.

Just like "Two Gay For The Straight Guy" is trying to sell to hetro America the idea that all men look good in a pink.

There was nothing wrong with the old jerseys.

Here Be Monsters
It reminds me of when national rugby teams switched from wearing rugby jerseys to Nike's bicycle shirts (also made of space-age fabric). So, they wound up going from this:

to this:

Eventually, you end up getting used to it.

Yeah, I saw some more highlights from their last workout in Kelowna and those players who wore the new jerseys just looked like a bunch of freaky steroid monkeys. Not that they were huge or anything but their pads made certain parts of their body look grossly out of proportion, which is so accentuated by the ridiculously fitting uniforms. I say screw the Nike contract and bring back CCM Maska to outfit our boys!

I think whomever designed them should be strung up by their thumbs and beaten by an angry mob with hockey sticks.

In case your wondering I don't like them.
