Has anybody heard anything about these aircars? Apparently, they run on compressed air. They claim that you could simply fill them up off of the air hose at the gas station or plug it in an electrical socket at home. On a full tank, you get somewhere around 300 km in range. Seems awfully affordable. They claim that the cars last longer as well because the engines contain less moving components and there's no heat damage (non-combustable engine).
It looks dinky:
But if you can get a commuter car that can run on a few dollars worth of air per week... I can't really figure out how the engine works, though.
What do you guys think? Bullshit? With all this talk on the Kyoto Accord and our failure to live up to it's goals, it seems like an option.
