New canucks coach

The one and only mega ego Mark Messier wants to be the new Canucks head coach.
He has a few demands , 25 million dollar contract to beat the one we already gave the scumbag.
He wants a young Paval Bure lookalike for a assistant and a few more as stick boys .
He wants Gillis to try and locate beachball Cloutier to replace Lou and Cory.
He wants to bring Wayne out of retirement to replace the Ginger Twins .... and hire Torts for the cheerleading squad along with freind Madonna and dress them in Fins orca outfit.
Would not surprise me if Gillis goes for it.

i keep hearing they want john stevens the assistant coach from the kings and retread from philly. not exactly a blockbuster name. if i was vigneault i would sit out this year, collect his paycheque from the canucks and wait to see what vacancies pop up next year. the rangers job has failure written all over it as long as that nut glen sather is running things, and the stars job isn't that prestigious.

Are the Italian slum landlords gonna let Gillis make the choice or ICE him soon too?
I think Gillis will be gone before the draft .....
or theres gonna be some serious unloading of $$$$ plumbers for trade pics.
I have not checked the draft choices to see if this is a good yr full of hot shots or ???

Well that would be even dumber than going to the draft without a coach and a GM. Messier? WTF were you drinking? Absinthe makes you crazy you know :nod:

I don't like Gillis and would sooner have Nonis at the helm than Gillis. I am sure it was a case of Gillis going or coach V. No brainier for Gillis.

Another early exit from the playoffs next year and Gillis will be history; assuming they make the playoffs.

I am guessing there will be a very different team on the ice next October with some BIG trades around the draft day and around July 1st.

Torts will probably get the bench job.......its gonna be interesting and entertaining to say the least.
I can't wait for him to wise up to the asshole press in this town and rip some of them new assholes.
most of the team are plumbers and only play when they feel like it and seldom with any heart , they need someone to grind them .
With this new nhl , u only need to get into playoffs.....as its a whole new game with a whole new set of rules come playoffs , AV and Gillis did not wise up to that fact.

Keenan the genius who brought us Messier ...
got rid of trevor , got us Bertussi.....
I think I hate Messier more than any other player in nhl history .

I'm personally hoping for John Stevens. He worked wonders with Philly's young guys. Barring that, Boucher or Tippett (though I think he's staying in the desert) would be awesome consolation prizes. Torts would be alright but... eh.

No Ruff, though, in anything but an assistant coaching capacity. I will lose my marbles if I have to watch Ruff hockey.

If Gillis hires Torts then they both will be gone within 3 years.

So many good coaches out there deserve a NHL shot and all the owners do is look to see who is a 'name' that's available.

Might be an idea to start him off as an assistant coach or a Junior Coach prior to wearing the big boy pants.

Not to highjack this thread in another direction, but today is the 19th anniversary of the Rangers beating the Canucks in Game 7 of the 1994 final. My best day as a sports fan ever. I'm sure that is very much in the minority opinion here LOL. Of course I think we can all agree the riots that followed in Vancouver were unfortunate and deplorable. At any rate, I shall light the peace pipe (since I don't drink) to toast the occasion as I have done each of the last 19 June 14's ... gotta keep enjoying that one cause it don't look like another Cup coming to NY anytime soon!
