New Agency

I can tell you right now that there's already a name conflict.

Roxie (formerly with SU but now Indy) is an SP who's been working under that name both here and in Vancouver for at least 3 years.

A little comment .

I figure it is about time that some of the girls smartened up .. i think the agencies were taking a little to much .
from what i was told . SU . was taking 60 from a hr call..From !80 that is a lot.
But what got me was that on a multiple hr call like 8 hrs out call they took 60 for each hr. that was 460 plus a driver fee.. .. i thought that was being greedy. it looks like the girls do also.
So best of luck to them for taking the initiative to manage them selves.

True

I guess if you are ok with it then i should not be complaining for you. over head and protection. i understand and some profit also. But what floored me was that there was no reduction in the fee per hour for mutable hr out calls the girls should not have to pay the same rate or any where close to it because they got this call because of there charm and repeat clientele.
But then i would probably go out of business .by giving the girls a brake.

The agency fees to some may seem a little steep but when you think of the overhead on running a agency I don't think it is too much. With those fees our rent for the space we use is paid for, advertising, condoms, phone staff, the website, and most of all protection. If you add up how much all of that costs in a month a little fee from each hour does not seem like much to me.:D
No offense, but this is what they'd like you to think . That without "the agency" your expenses would cost more than what you pay them in fees.

I'm sorry, but this is BULLSHIT.

For example: say you do 5 1hr calls a day, @ $65 per call. (fees are between 60-70 for 1hr).

That's $325 for 1 day. And If you are a busy lady, this is a low figure.

I was paying an upwards of $500 day when I first started out :(.

So, if you work 5 days a week & do the same number of appointments everyday, it works out to $1,625 a week.

Monthly, that comes out to $6,500.

I'm sorry but this is highway robbery .

$6,500 divided by the $65 fee, means that you sleep with 100 clients for the agency to provide you with the following: a place to work, supplies, security, advertising, etc.

Even if you kept your rates at $180 hr, you would still come out making more money if you were to go indy & pay for all these expenses yourself :).

Do you think it would cost you $6000 a month if you were on your own?

Think about it .

Good points - the economics of the business are what attracts people (SPs and Agency owners) to the business.

Yes the agencies take alot in their fees but that environment works for some and for others it isn't the solution which is why we have independent providers like the Awesome Audrey, Rockin Roxie and Marvellous Mia.

Physical protection is often touted as being a big advantage for working in an agency environment but that only holds for the incall environment. Yes the driver affords some protection in an outcall but once the lady is "in the room or house" the driver is limited.

I personally know several providers and former providers who have been independent and they all have established protection protocols - they'd be silly not to have something especially considering the experience of a few with a certain "un-named" hobbiest in the Victoria area...

Re protection

WOW, $6500 for a month, that's steep. I have been to Class Choice and I doubt that there is anyone there that could help IF I got outta hand. I'm not a huge guy but once in the room how is the girl going to get protection? I would be more than happy to provide protection for a a"small fee".

Yeah, even if it was half that, $3,000 is still outrageous in my eyes :(.

I'd supply a house, car, cell phone, security and accessories for $5000 a month...

4 Working girls... that is 20 large a month...

Damn, Ima in the wrong business...

And nobody seems to mention the retainer for the lawyer that keeps you out of trouble with LE... that would not be cheap...

That doesn't happen sweety. LE is very much on the side of the licenced agencies and ladies. I can't imagine why you would think an agency would need a lawyer.
Yes, LE is generally on the side of licensed agencies and ladies. Prostitution is legal in Canada but much of the processes around it are not (even though not regularly enforced). It is the Agency and its owners that are potentially at risk.

But, situations can and do happen - one only has to look at the common bawdy house laws to see the possibilitiy. Now, local LE doesn't enforce this much but when complaints are received and they are reluctantly forced to enforce this and then the need for legal assistance is there.

Consider the late evening raid with everyone being taken in - including the clients. Thankfully this is a rare situation but it has happened and it can happen. Clearly the best solution is to operate within the "comfort" factors dictated by LE and you'll have their cooperation, support and protection.

Now, the accountants make money on this but it is a cash business and when an agency (and its staff) fail to report properly and CRA gets involved then there is a real need for assistance - I know - I brokered a resolution of a dispute between an agency owner and CRA.

"I brokered a resolution of a dispute between an agency owner and CRA."

Uh Huh...I guess now's not the best time to finally come clean and finally admit that I'm a revenue Canada investigator working undercover...and I MEAN undercover...

No? Would you believe...
That I work the night shift raising and lowering the Johnson Street bridge?

No? Would you believe this happened to me when I was a dairy farmer in Central Saanich...(true story)

We had just received our new milking machine by parcel express. Being a handy sort of farm guy I assembled it and got in working order within a couple of hours. Being the middle of the afternoon, and hours away from milking time, I thought "what the heck this could be a little fun" and hooked it up to myself and switched it on.

Oh it had a nice gentle milking action and for the first half hour all I could think about was how closely this resembled Lucy's gentle ministrations.

Anyway, fun's fun, but after a while I tried to turn it off. No go. No on and off switch, and it was hard-wired into the building so I couldn't pull the plug. This was becoming desperate very quickly so I whipped out my cell phone and called the company we ordered it from.

Just barely able to talk by this point I gasped to the technician on the other side of the phone:

"HEY HOW DO YOU TURN THIS THING OFF??? "

The fellow on the other end asked...oh ah, what model is it Sir?

Oh crap..I stumbled around, turned part of it over and there was a metal plate with the model number.

"IT'S AN X-987GD !!!!!" I shouted.

"The GD? You're in luck!" He said.
"Shuts off automatically after 4 litres."

You can come clean anytime you like - everyone here, most anyway, has "another life"....

Liked the rest of your story tho... not relevant but was cute :D

Jaime..... Jaime...... Jaime....

I never said there was a raid in Victoria - I merely pointed out that it was possible and it is... Although, I admit it is very rarely done - and I also pointed that out... (But then there was this crackdown in Calgary a few years ago... and some of the massage joints get raided from time to time but that is largely driven by Immigration...)

I also pointed out that prostitution is legal in Canada but that some of the activities surrounding prostitution were not legal and they are not but as I also pointed out, they are rarely enforced in the agency world and more frequently enforced on the street.

The last formal raid in Victoria that I can recall was at an agency on Quadra Street some years ago - none of the ladies or the pooners were charged - the owners were in more trouble, although as I recall, the charges were stayed (I could look it up but it's not worth the time).

There was also this agency operating not so discreetly in the Songhees that was also interupted in its business by legal actions taken by the tennants and the condo owner... that agency collapsed sometime later.

As for the CRA actions - as you pointed out they have happend, and they can be very serious and problematic - but to keep them happy make sure you pay some tax then they won't come knocking at the door...

I'm retired, but philosophically I'm a supporter of the Independent Lady, and somewhat of the Agencies...

I'm done - Sheesh.....
