Calgary people... take note of the 6-7-2 record of your supposedly Stanley Cup favorite team (Sports Illustrated has never known dick about hockey. They probably picked Washington to win the cup the year after Carey won the Vezina :p )

Edmonton people....a respectable 8-6-1

It's not where you are at 14 games, it's where you are at 82 :). Let's hope the Canucks keep it up.

Flames shut out Canucks

Bertuzzi floated around the play. Warrener caught him with his head down, trying to leave the Canucks zone and checked him so hard he lost his helmet, & that brought the crowd to their feet.

Ruttu played his nasty game, which just was just one of the night's matchups.

Monday's rematch should be fun !!!!!

The Habs are 11-3-1 and nobody is gloating. Why don't you wait til the Canucks win something? A Stanley cup riot without winning the Stanley cup dosen't count.:)

I'll re-post this from five days ago because it's still relevant :
Auld is NOT a proven entity (heh, heh, I said enTITY). He has played well in his relief stints, but he also lost his starting position in Manitoba, so let's see how he does long term.
These wins in Nov and Dec mean nothing. Canucks used to have a history of tanking come Jan-Feb. Let's see if they can play well late season.
Why are all the Bertuzzi fans saying how great he's playing? He is still taking dumb penalties, still coughing up the puck with bad passes, still not back checking, still not scoring... How long can he use rust or a bad back as an excuse? He has had two good seasons and cashed in big time, but he's not being paid $6 million to collect assists. He still hasn't got a legitimate goal. He has always played in streaks so one of these days he'll score two or three in a game and the 'nuck fans will climax, bit then he'll do what he has a history of doing - disappearing for 8-12 games before potting another couple. Bertuzzi's fat contract will be Brian Burke's curse on the Canucks.

Canucks lose again

If they can't beat Calgary then they don't have any chance of doing well in the playoffs...

Drives me nuts.....Vancouver fans are like Toronto fans as soon as there are a few wins everyone thinks they are on the way to the cup. It's not where you start it's where you finish......and they'll finish as also rans. With Cloutier in net that's all they'll ever be.

Having said all this I'm an Oilers fan and they aren't going anywhere, I can take solace in the fact that they have some Stanley Cup banners in the rafters though!!:D

. i think his lawyers have advised him to kool it and take the sure thing $$$$$$$$$$$ he has to play with a mean streak to be effective and i don't think we will see that for a long long time. he pays his lawyer for good advise and he has been listening.
i agree but for a different reason: if bert comes out and plays like he can, with passion and intensity and like some superstar, then when he goes to court, moore's lawyers argue that the incident had no impact on bert or his career and he will end up paying through the nose for that hit.

in other words, he has to 'play' as if the whole incident had an impact on him.

i think bert will cruise along until the case is settled and then, if possible, go back to playing like he really can.

meanwhile, the nucks still lose out having bert in the line-up because they get 'bert-lite' and that's just as pissy as american beer!

dumb question
I'm out west with the lot of you and absolutely ADORE hockey but if the Sens stay healthy and Hasek plays the way we know he can, then me thinks yer lookin at the true canadian team contender for the cup. I don't mind the Flames, I have more respect for the Canucks (if only they'd get their poop in a group:mad: ) But that Sens team is really jelling.. sure it's early but they have had it going the whole season, not just a good week.
