I got a strange parking ticket yesterday. My car was not parked in a metered zone. On the ticket it says

City of Vancouver Notice of By law violation

and tells me that I have violated by law #2849, yet doesnt tell me how much the fine is. I tried to pay for the ticket on line thru city hall's webpage. I searched under my license plate number and no tickets were found...

Anyone has any idea about this?

My guess is that it pertains to the bolded section of section 91.1.d:

Subject to the provisions of section 94 no person shall drive or operate on
any City street:

a vehicle having wheels, tires or tracks constructed or equipped
with projected spikes, cleats, ribs, clamps, flanges, lugs, studs, or
other attachments or projections which extend beyond the tread or
traction surface of the wheel, tread or track; provided however,
that nothing in this clause is intended to prohibit the use of snow
chains during the period from October 1st to April 30th; and
provided further that nothing in this clause is intended to prohibit
the use at any time between October 1st and April 30th, of studs
that do not protrude more than 3 millimetres
from the tread or
traction surface of a tire if,

I'm guessing they are laughing so hard that they never got around to updating the system.

Some clown probably put his ticket on your car. 16 year olds find that kind of lame shit funny.

No, i think its authentic.

I parked on this street right beside the resturant "Boat house", when I got the ticket I checked all other cars and they all have this special triangle pass on their windsheild....

fuck , but there are no street signs that says parking allowed with permits.....

Probably a $25.00 fine

http://vancouver.ca/bylaws/80234v3.pdf
Bylaw 2849 17.6 covers parking in a permit zone and the fine for it is 25 Dollars
