Sometimes I need to get out of a tight situation. I need a way for my cell phone to ring so I can excuse myself. I already have my laptop calling my cell phone, but I need to set up the call each time and I can not make it wait 5 or 10 minutes before calling. What I'd really like is a convenient way to make my cell phone ring. Anyone have any ideas?

Book a restaurant reservation for 9 and when u dont show up at a certain time they'll call u. Or set a alarm im sure nobody would clue in you set some alarm. Nowadays the ringtone n alarms sound very similar

Many cellphones have built in reminder alarms these days and you can set them to be any downloadable thing you want.
There's also the 'it was on vibrate' thing, where it doesn't actually ring at all.
Or, depending on the age of the person you're trying to trick, you could tell them that you're using that high frequency ring tone the kids use that isn't audible to most adults, but you can hear it (my cellphone has that tone so I can ignore it without the people I'm with knowing it's ringing).
There's also the 'it was on vibrate' thing, where it doesn't actually ring at all.

If you have a fax program/modem, set it to call your number, I know on my program I can set it to redial as many times as I want, and I can have it call back as fast or slow as I want. the defaut is 3 times every 3 minutes... I use winfax.

Most mobile phones have an alarm clock on it. Program it to ring when you want to and you're saved by the bell.
You should be able to make your pc wait by setting the task as a scheduled task. I don't have the phone dialer software installed on my pc, but I'm sure someone will come along who has it and can find the instructions to create a batch file that can be sceduled to run whenever you wish.
Or just go with the "alarm" that everyone else mentioned.

How about a second cell phone with your first cell phone set on speed dial? Keep the second cell phone (it's probably a good idea to have a poon phone anyways) in your coat pocket and simply call yourself...simple!
I either answer the "vibrating ring" or have a certain code thats preporgrammed as a text message to go out to two of my buddies incase I need a bail out call from an undesirable situation.
The only problem with this system is that, at some point, the grrl is going to want to actually meet those imaginary friends...
That's what I do. Sometimes you can even set the alarm while talking to the person you want to blow off, they just think you are reading text messages or something. On my razr you can set the alarm the same way as the ringer so when the alarm goes off it sounds just like a call.
