I subscribe to the school that teaches "the little things are usually good indicators of the big things".

It's served me well in business for 25 years. The times I ignored/talked myself out of following my gut, I regretted every time.

Feel free to ignore his forgetfullness all you want. It's a free country. He doesn't get off with lame assed excuses with me. He of all people should understand Henry Ford's quote: "A man doesn't build his reputation based on whay he SAYS he is going to do..." When you are in public office, being paid for BY THE people, you had better treat that priveledge with respect. Generations of "oh it's just a minor offence" has cumulated with the rot we all love so much now.

I'm not saying he deserves the chair, but he sure as hell deserved a ticket, and the public shaming that goes along with being such a twat.
It's so funny when a politician is caught in a minor infraction. All of a sudden, the vultures are all over the place. It's not like this guy was caught drinking and driving or anything.

Yeah he needs a mug shot like Gordon Campbell.I blame the liberals & the hst. I agree with Hunka, i vote in all 4 levels of gov't federal, provincal, municipal & my reserves elections. There all pigs at the trough, none of them gives a rats ass about you & i.Even if one or two of them ever did it gets beaten outta them over time(tow the party line)I honestly don't think that there should be career politicians & they shouldn't be allowed to draw there pensions until there 67. These guys brag that they can earn so much more in the private sector, well be my guest. It was a dick move on Dix part(see how i worked that in):pound::pound::pound::pound:

We expect politicians to be pure, and we expect them to appear to be pure, as Shakespeare wrote about Ceaser's wife, many years ago. When they don't, it is a very strong sign of their underlying personality and attitude towards society and the laws. And when they behave in this fashion, we have a strong idea of their way of handling things in the future, with a lack of respect of honesty and integrity. The thought process that put him on that skytrain without paying, had to really go just about the same as any of us, "I won't get caught" or "I am above paying" as likely ones. So give him control of the province, our taxes, and imagine which way he will go!

No doubt that Dix would handle the introduction of the HST the same way Campbell did. He just showed he will go around the rules to get what he wants.

Wake up electorate, you are getting a valid strong message.

Yep this is only a little white lie type of thing, but we know now he could expand that definition.

Well we can probably credit Dix with fixing the problem:

Transportation Minister Blair Lekstrom vows to fix Translink ticket loophole--non-enforcement of fines.

I don't think giving a warning is appropriate at all. You ride you pay and if you try to ride for free you will really pay a lot more.

The Province ran an editorial today asking why Mr.Dix got off with a warning.

That is exactly what I thought when I first read the story. If the average citizen
lost their pass I don't think they get a warning,I think they get a fine.

The transit police obviously figured he was telling the truth, or they would have given him a ticket, not a warning.

I think it's great that Dix actually uses public transit.

Gee Ned, I didn't realize that you were just as phoney and sanctimonious as your Simpsons namesake. But why be hostile, thanks for the laugh of the day.
