I don't think Ben Roethlisberger got this touchdown. I think the ref sucked and fucked up a good game 4 calls against the Seahawks that would have changed the out come of this game i callback td for hawks two penaltys at steelers goal line and Ben Roethlisberger td. The score could of been seahawks 28 to steelers 17 the hawks had 20 to 14 1st downs 396yards to 339 7penaltys 70yrd to 3penaltys for 20yrd. I think this years mvp should be this guy
nice fucking game

Matt played his tail off, BUT penalties killed the Seahawks, Seattle should of won this game if it wasn't for that stupid call by the official on that Darrell Jackson TD and that Roethlisberger TD that wasn't, but the Steelers did play well on defence so they are full value for their win

Don't forget about the phantom holding call that turned a 1st and goal from the 1 into a 1st and 20 from the 29. Pretty sure Alexander could've banged that one in in three tries.

That was the play that Matt Hasselbeck threw to Jerramy Stevens I believe which would of been @ the 1 yard line with the score 14 - 10 in the 4th Quarter correct?

I agree...there were 3 really bad calls

If the calls had been correct....then it would have been a Seattle win....Ther was no holding .....and it would have put the ball on the 2 yard line with 1st and goal''''and the touch down that never was!!!!

I agree with you guys.

I found it a boring game. Only a few decent plays.
The refs did make some bogus calls.

Can't change it now. The SeaHawks should hold thier heads high they got to the Superbowl. A lot of guys play for thier whole career and never get there.

If they sign Alexander I think they could get back there next year. If they keep the team intact. It did put Seattle on the map. Can't take his MVP or 28 touchdowns away from him.

The Stones were not too bad, they are starting to look a little pathetic singing songs they did in the 60's.

Overall I thought it was not a super game. The playoff games were better.

Anytime a receiver pushes off with an extended arm its offensive interference it doesn't matter how hard he used his arm to gain seperation from the db that play gets called back 100% of the time so quit whining about that one. I thought the ball crossed the plain of the goal when Rothlesberger was in the air just before he got hit you can't just look at where the ball was when he hit the ground. Didn't see any holding on that other call though.

Super Bowl

those "phantom" holding calls saved Hasselback from getting sacked.the one I cant figure is the penalty to Hasselback for his tackle after the pick, something about chopping below the knees??new one for me.

as for the stats, only one that matters is the score.should ,coulda ,woulda,if,if...if my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle, better team won, get over it...btw, I was cheering for the Seahawks

 I have never been more frustrated after watching a game than that...

the game coulda/shoulda been over by halftime...and i'd never blame an official for losing, but jeez!

I was also disappointed the pass play under 2 minutes that was caught down by the goal line. Seahawks receiver got 1 foot in, and his knee hit the pylon(thats a TD), but the play was NOT reviewed:mad:

Nice fucking line Roethlesburger....9-21 123 yards and 2 INT....

Its only a touchdown if the ball hits the pylon when you're in the air. If you're running you have to have both feet land in bounds for it to be a catch. The NFL has a lot of very specific and sometimes odd rules. His foot hit the pylon but landed out of bounds.

Jackson was out of bounds at the goal line near the end of the first half. Not even close to a TD so I'm not sure why that is even being brought up.
On the Steelers first TD, the nose of the ball did catch part of the plane of the goal line before Ben got pushed back.It was close, but it did catch a piece of it.
The Hawks had their chances, but couldn't score when they were down close. It could have been a different story if they would have capitalized.

funny no one mentioned two missed field goal attempts by Seattle ... that would have kept them in the game as well.

i don't like it when games are decided by bad calls either ... but the review process is about as fair as it can be and the coaches do have the choice of asking for reviews.

The holding call was questionable but I saw that ball break the plane of the goal line and the Seattle TD was obvious interference. I am not really a Hawks or Steelers fan. I think the Hawks lost the game not because of any bad calls but because they couldn't put the ball ion the end zone in the first half when they dominated the game. for the first 30 minutes. They looked like the better team and that they should have won but you have to be able to finish a drive with some points and they couldn't. Don't blame the referees. If they scored when the should have in the first half they would have been up a couple touchdowns at half time and then it would have been a whole different second half. Hats off to the Pitsburgh defense.

The bs call was the Personal Foul on Hasselbeck for allegedly tackling a blocker when it was obvious he took out the ball carrier.

I agree the much-discussed Roethlesburger TD was indeed a TD - on the replay, you can clearly see the ball break the plane before he's driven back. The only question I would think is if he was down before the ball broke the plane.

The pass interference call on Jackson was BS - I officiate a couple sports, and that contact was extremely minimal, with no advantage gained by the receiver. It was, in the parlance of the sports world, a "ticky-tack" call involving contact that happens on just about every passing play in the NFL. Take away the slight brush of Jackson's hand, and he still would have scored, as the defender was clearly headed the other way anyway.

True, Seattle did miss some chances - those two FG misses weren't exactly chip shots, though - but the timing and magnitude of some of the calls clearly impacted the outcome, I thought.

Still, it was nice to see Cowher and Bettis get a ring.

One more thought from me on this call.......

When i first saw it live, i watched the linseman come running in with his hand in the air, running down the goalline(i thought he was going to mark ben short). then i saw ben wiggle the ball over the line, and THEN the official signalled TD. I felt that it wasn't til he made that wiggle.....and if THAT was the ruling, that is Bullshit!!.......however, if he made the ruling that the ball broke the plane, then i have to admit, there was not conclusive evidence to overturn the call:(
