I prefer to keep the play in the bedroom. I'm a sub myself... but I could never be in a sub/dom relationship that carried out into the real world. I'm too much of an independant woman :)

In the bedroom tho, it's a lot of fun. I'll have to say that much :)

The Dom side of the coin has been mine for the last 10 years or so. The relationship I was in varied from only the bedroom at one extreme (at first), and right down to every detail of what my slave wore to work (or didn't wear on certain days) at the other.

Obviously, it requires a lot of trust from both sides. For most, everyday things like work, family, kids, grocery shopping and keeping the house clean set limits even when people set out to play their roles 24/7.

On the play side (and excitement side), it takes a lot of work and discussion to find out your partners desires and make them happen. I think that's why some subs/slaves like the control - they know when it's well done their needs are being paid attention to as much as the Doms/Dommes, and recognize it takes a lot of effort. Since the pleasure of the slave comes at a price (pleasing Master or Mistress), there is a kind of balance.

Personally, I've always preferred monogamy in a slave relationship, but some Masters/Mistresses feel it's important to show the slave they can be shared like a pair of socks. I guess I'm too greedy to do that - HEH!

I really want to explore my dom side but really don't have that much experience in a dom/sub relationship.

Any female subs that can share their experiences please PM me.

Thanks. :D

I guess that is the trick, find a sub that can accomodate the time for you to truly experience your dom side. I take it that it would require more than an hour appointment? Any ladies out there would be willing to be a sub for a dom in an appointment setting?

Marvin:

Here are a few suggestions you may want to test out (or you can tell me to get lost...shrugs).

Read a few good books on the topic. A search at Amazon will give you more than enough ample choices.

Spend some time with a pro-Dom. This may sound backward, but it's an "old school" view on the lifestyle. Learn what it's like to be on the bottom before you try being on top. The old adage "you have to feel it to appreciate it" comes to mind.

That and $2.19 will buy you a coffee at Starbucks.

To pick nits, that would be:

"Screw the Roses, Send Me the Thorns"

The complete name of the book is longer.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0964596008/102-7011063-3935329?v=glance

The link includes a short list of other similar books, including SM101.

For fiction:

You may try the "Gor" series of books, now out of print, by John Norman. There are about 24 of them. Some people think they're junk, others believe they have value in creating a mindset. They're not the greatest things ever written, but you can make up your mind by browsing one of them. Most used book stores have several.

You may also want to check out the "Beauty" series by Ann Rice. Same game here - opinions of them vary.

Some also suggest 9-1/2 Weeks - the book, NOT the movie.

Actually, visit bondage.com and look at the personals. People with the dollar sign beside there name are pro dommes or pro subs. If you want to know what it feels like to whip a sub into submission, try out one of these ladies. Make sure to write a review!!!

I have been on both sides of the coin. Yes it can be incredibly fun, but firm rules and boundries must be set. I once ended a sub/Dom relationship because of too many expectations. I prefer to keep it in the bedroom myself. There are lots of groups in Vancouver if you want to check it out. Rascals holds play parties on a regular basis where you can meet people new to the scene or who have been in it for many many years. My only advice is trust in yourself before in others and always listen to your feelings. Set boundries and keep them. Don't let anyone try to get you to do something harmfull to yourself or that interferes with your real life outside the relationship. Ie, for one, I would never show up at work wearing a collar.....lol

Play Safe.

Sativa:

Amongst 25 reasons why a dog is better than a woman:

"Your dog won't call you a pervert if you try to make it wear a spiked leather collar."

On the other hand, my slave's collar was an 18k gold Italian omega necklace with a custom gold pendant - presentable for all occasions (well, most of them).

More of the 25 reasons:

"The later you get home, the happier your dog is."

"If you bring another dog home, your dog will happily play with both of you."

Kidding aside, some folks I knew would go so far as to check references in the life style and not stop there. They would also get friends/relatives in LE to do a background check on prospective play partners who were new or unknown in town.

a dream is to marry a dom to suit me and my many needs... that is most likely not gonna happen tho cause he needs to take control in a way that we compliment eachother and fit together like a complicated puzzle AND be rich AND not want kids AND not have a dog and a few other tid bits (rich perfect handsome dom thats everything I want... a girl can dream)
Handsome....Check.
Not want kids....Check.
Not have a Dog...Check.
Dom...Never done it before but willing to give it a shot...Check.
Rich...
