The family has been worried about her downward spiral for a while - bad friends, doing drugs on the weekend, drinking....... Now she has admitted to doing meth and we are so worried now. Last time I saw her was 2 weeks ago, she is still her beautiful self but she has changed - talking a mile a minute, story after story that leaves you scratching your head...

Now my mom thinks she is working the streets. Mom saw her going through her purse, pulling out a package of CONDOMS:eek: Just thinking about this all just makes me sick. She is 31, gorgeous, smart, has a university degree. I feel like I will never know her again.

I just had to get that off my chest. Thanks for listening.

My heart goes out to you and your sister.

Meth is a scourge that destroys every life it comes into contact with.

The sad part is that most people dont see it until its ruined their lives and the lives of their loved ones.

If your sister is willing to get help make sure you support and help her anyway you can.

If she is unwilling unfortunately there is little you can do except seek some help yourself so you know what to do to deal with her addiction and remain healthy yourself.

Good luck!

Don't stop believing in her!

WOW...Crystal is very hard to get away from, especially if she has created a circle of friends that participate...

I suggest you tell her how much you love and care for her...and don't give up...seeing as she has proven to have a head on her shoulders (going to University) she knows right from wrong and will snap out of it...

Maybe you have relatives that live far away that you could suggest she 'runs' away and starts over there...
She might not listen right away but your honesty with her I think will echo in her mind and she might trust that you want to help her...

Please try not to judge her but make her feel loved, In my opinion people usually do drugs to escape some sort of depression...

Even if you give her all the options in the world on how to change...
its all up to her.

Hope you keep close communication with her so she knows she is loved...

my best wishes
D.

Maybe the fact she has admitted to it is a cry for help. And that does not mean she will go on her own either. Hope everything works out for her and your family.

If your sister is struggling with addiction then that is truly a shame, but it seems to me like you might be jumping the gun slightly.. at the age of 31 she isnt allowed to have condoms, drink, or hang out with whomever she chooses (even if they are dirtbags)???

I am watching a loved one destroy herself. Sure, she is an adult, makes her own decisions, has her own life - I DO NOT JUDGE....meth addiction takes it to a level too high for me to comprehend and thus I vent. I am not overreacting - she is an addict on her way to well.. God only knows.

My heart goes out to you. There may well be very tough times ahead. I had a friend in highschool start to use meth and she went from a beautiful, sweet, honest girl to a manipulative, abscess covered, paranoid train wreck in under 6 months. I remember the last time I had her over at my house - she drank all the mouth wash in the washroom, stole books to sell at the used bookstore - all while talking non-stop about how clean she was now.

You must get her help now!
Not only does meth cause horrible physical side effects but PERMANENT brain damage as well. The decline and severity of meth addiction seems to be swifter and greater than any other drug out there. After seeing a long term meth user sometimes you wonder if death would be kinder. Everytime she uses she is playing Russian Roulette.
Do what ever you can to get her somewhere safe - this isn't a little bit of pot we are talking about here - this is a very serious, insidious, vile drug.

Best wishes to you, your sister and family.

Sorry to hear that, Try to spend as much time as possible with your sister.

All she needs is love. Someone to listen too. It wouldn't be a bad idea, if you could take her out of the Country. Vacation or i am not sure if you have famliy outside of the Country. She must be taken away from this environment as soon as possible. Obviously , you have no idea how long she has been doing Crystal Meth. The sooner she gets help, the better chance she will have.

Once the Brain gets damaged. It's not reversable. It's a very serious matter.

I hope your sister comes around.

Don't give up on her Bro. YOU can make a difference. At least do your best to try. I honestly don't have all the answers, though i would suggest research as much as you can about Crystal Meth etc..
