i have the rebel as well.
from the research I have done, the rebel is the best most bang for you buck.. you cannot go wrong with it..

Thanks guys. I already tried Futureshop, so I'll try the other places you guys mentioned. I'm liking the Rebel. I borrowed a friends and liked it and was going to get one of those but then I heard the Rebel XT was coming out soon. Hehehe and I can still use my friend's lenses and other accessories. They are supposed to be compatible.
Hopefully you did some shopping around and did some extensive reasearch because I found Lens and Shutter to be very informative but stay away from Broadway Camera. BC are in it just to sell equipment.
I like Nikon.
You can use generic lenses like Tamron where they are cheaper but you can't beat quality in a ( which you will by) Canon lenses.
And sounding like a salesman: How much can you afford? What are you going to use it for? How often will you use it?
