Went there on the weekend for a celebration of sorts. Man, it's been a long time since I've been to Kits beach. Brings back many fond memories. When I was younger without a worry in the world, I used to make a 1 hour trip taking 2-3 different buses including transfers every Saturday and Sunday to just lay there in the sun, listen to the "ghettoblaster", read a book, or play some beach volleyball.
I remember the only food available at the time was a concession stand that basically sold bad hot dogs, burgers, and fish and chips... but because it was the beach and you could smell the ocean, somehow the food always tasted better than it really was.
So here I was at the Watermark with a classy sexy lady in her summer dress, matching shoes and painted toes... it was like summer in April! Wow, have things ever changed at Kits. This ain't no "concession stand." I was really looking forward to sampling the food. The place was packed and they said seating would take about 40 minutes. F$ck that... we'll sit at the bar...
One of the risks of going to a new restaurant is not knowing the staff... anyways, we got stuck with a b$tch who has jealous cunt bitch syndrome or JCBS for short... the type that gives u bad service because the lady you're with is hotter than her. That is why one of my golden rules at restaurants is to always request the QUEEN BITCH... I mean BEE... the one that appreciates hotness in other girls, instead of letting her insecurities show.
In no particular order:
1. Lady asked for a napkin to wipe the caesar that spilled into her sweater. The server just took her sweet time and seemed to enjoy the caesar working it's way in and staining the sweater. Stupid b$tch.
2. Service was slow... took almost an hour to get grilled salmon and fries for crying out loud. $17 and the salmon was only average and fries were nothing to write home about. I much prefer the salmon dish at Earls where u get a beautiful salmon filet and 2 nutricious and tasty sides. Furthermore, chowder was uninspired and needed more cream... and I could get better garlic bread at SaveOnFoods and stick it in the toaster oven. Only saving grace was the shrimp cocktail with avacado sauce. Those were yummy.
3. OMG, they charge for refills on Ice Tea! $7.50 for 3 ice teas. I thought free refills was pretty much industry standard in the "casual category" restaurants. Waitress was more than happy to keep offering them to me without even notifying me there was an extra charge each time. Stupid b$tch.

F: 6 - overpriced and on the same level as Rickis ... not Earls, Cactus Club, Joey Tomatoes, etc. Maybe I just ordered their worst dish... on paper, some of the dishes looked really good...
S: 5 - If the place is that busy, hire more staff... hire hotter girls that don't have JCBS syndrome.
A: 8 - the view of the beach was great, the design of the restaurant was nice and the place was jamming.
L: 9 - on the beach, ample parking, great for a walk on the beach after dinner to burn those calories and get some fresh air
Repeat? I wanna give them a 2nd chance. Next time I will just ask the hostess to set us up with the hottest server, preferably on the porch and I will try ordering something different.
