Does anyone know why the board allows multiple handles? Are there any reasons people have more than one? I've just been reading some of the postings about accusations and re-accusations, etc. and most seem to blame people with multiple handles. If this were stopped wouldn't it solve mucho problemas? Sorry if this has been covered, but I see a lot of people leaving because of harrassment and it seems a (maybe too) simple solution.

If 50 Mile owned PERB……
Here’s the facts as we know it:
A. There’s a lot of crap going on……..this is bad
B. We have SP’s contributing here……most members think this is good(I know there are some that wish it was back to the way it was-I think???), as just a review board without the ladies…..50 mile thinks the ladies add a lot and would be disappointed to see more of them go(**50 is saddened by the recent loss of Paige Adams**), but sees that that is where we are heading because of point “A” above, and "C" and "D" below
C. Fake reviews…..bad
D. Multiple handles…..bad
The only solution I see, as I am not a technowizard, is to make PERB a pay site(Now, hold on lemme explain….). Let’s say we charged $50 for a six month “bond”. This would be refundable after the “6 month” good behavior period. Good behavior as determined by things like: not getting banned which is always(I think) determined by FredZed….$50 might not be enough, it might be $100 or something. Heck, I know I have saved a $100 by using PERB….
Who is going to buy multiple handles or post fake reviews (for $50 or $100) knowing they’ll lose it….I suggest no one
Administratively, it might be a lot of work, but I see where PERB is going and I think we’ll lose it soon if the advertisers continue to leave…. The banned members would/might cover the cost of the added admin. Heck, I could help if asked....
Of course we could grandfather members with over, say, 41 posts(and they wouldn't have to pay)…..HAHA

As for the bad reviews, as you said there is no perfect solution, I think the SP's would all accept a bad review. I've seen it here where they say"perhaps I had a bad day" or "well if you weren't soo mean to me, I would have provided better service" or whatever. At least with the Sp's here they can respond and tell their side, but if they are gone, what then?
I think it's the fake reviews that are the bigger problem, though...

Two excellent points here. Due to the extreme amount of money that this "hobby" involves, and the increasing importance of review boards in shaping images and opinions, the stakes are very high and those with agendas are a natural byproduct. I would think difficult to police. What people need to do is develop good BS detectors.vancouverman said:

It seemed there was a time in this board's history that many reviews were posted and information flowed more freely. Intimidation (perhaps the wrong word) has taken away some of that freedom. It would be an improved review board to see that return. We need reviewers to have a strong review board.

A final thought on multiple handles - it must be most difficult for those who do both a male and female post thing to get the "tone" right. When it works, good on 'em (I guess). When it doesn't, it is so obvious and quite funny so guess it adds humour to the board which is never a bad thing (I guess).
