I've been through 3 long term relationships of 1 year, 5 years, and (gasp!) 9 years. I've learned a lot from each relationship and each subsequent relationship has gotten better (ie. the girl got smarter, taller, hotter, and "more maneuverable" with each relationship

It is hard to find a good couple you can trust... we were thinking of joining some social clubs and seeing if we could meet other couples for both outings and potential swinging if we got to know them well enough. There are so many potential complications I can think of though... such as:
1. What if the male in the other couple and my SO like each other more?
2. What if the female in the other couple and me like each other more?
3. What if my SO wants to swing with her best friend and her boyfriend? How would that affect the relationship.
4. Is it better to find 1 couple only, or to sample a huge variety by going to swinger parties?
Swinging is definitely not something to be taken lightly. I am curious if anybody on PERB has had success with swinging and what to look out for... the pros and the cons, etc.
My IDEAL HYPOTHETICAL scenario that I thought up is to find a really good couple that shares many of our interests but is in a different age group. That way, we could go out for dinner, watch movies together, go to ballet and musicals, travel the world... 4 is a good number to do things. The age difference would increase the odds that emotions don't get in the way... and we could enjoy sex from a different age group for variety. Perhaps down the road, add another couple that is also in a different age group, but in the opposite direction... so u have 1 couple older, 1 couple younger... and hopefully that will prevent emotions from f$cking everything up.
