I think the issue is that there is a sliding scale. Are you suggesting that people choose to pay what they want? If not, how is the rate determined?

Yeah it would be in the back of my mind that if I paid the low side of the scale it would 1. make me look like a Dick or result in less enthusiastic service. Even if she says it’s not true I would still wonder and then end up tipping so it’s the high end of the scale. Then I’d default on mortgage and live in a van down by the river.
