MSN Messenger question

Does anybody know, when using Messenger, does it keep a log on your hard drive? If so, whrere and what would it be called?

It does Phoenix but only if you have it enabled.

MSN Messanger --> Tools --> Options --> Messages --> At the bottom you'll see if Message History is enabled, and were on your hard drive messages are or can be kept. --- Kev

it can keep a log if you tell it to.

The log is located in a subdirectory of your my documents folder.

Locate the "my received files" folder and then locate the folder with beginning with your hotmail address and then some coded numbers. There will be xml files within the history file associated with anybody that you communicate with on MSN Messenger

Thats' funny, I'm using Windows XP home (2003) and it goes:
Messenger > Tools > Options > under options it only lists personal, phone, preferences, privacy, accounts, connections....nothing with 'messages'. And there are no messenger log files under My Received Files, only some FTP files from messenger.

How do I enable the log ?

What version of messenger do you use? I have 6.2.0137
Maybe you need to download a newer version.

That could explain why I also don't have a messenger avatar that someone I was chatting with complained about. I have version 4.7 (4.7.2009)
