MRSN:Mav's Rockstar - Supernova Thread

I think Storm will be gone tonight. At this point with only a handful of contestants left it probably won't matter if it's your first time in the bottom three or not, if you have the worst performance you could be gone. Besides it would be good for the shock factor to have someone leave the show without a warning. She's the one with the least potential to lead this band.

I think at this point it is pretty clear that this thingy is between Lukas and Dilana. Those two can do no wrong to the Supernova guys.

I still think that Magni is the most polished and well rounded out of the whole lot. He has been solid week after week but there's that little "vow" factor sadly missing.

Ryan all the way!!
He rocked the house. Not only was he the best vocally, he was the best showman, giving something to go see in concert. Toby killed it also. Dilana made up for her 'Divaness' of the past week.

I'm tellin' ya... if that chick Storm doesn't get booted next week I really don't think I can watch anymore!

But... I have to admit that Ryan's version of the classic Who anthem tonight sure sucked ahhss!!
Like I said she was going to get a pass tonight since it was her first time in the bottom 3. She has spent whatever credit she has with the band and will most likely leave if she lands in the bottom 3 again. The band telling her she hasn't shown any growth translates into you don't have a snowballs chance in hell of making the group.

I agree with your assessment of Ryan's performance tonight. His theatrics take away from his vocals. He's at his best sitting behind the piano.

I was listning to the fox yesterday and they said they already picked a winner. Its juts not offical. I think the voice was Ryan on the clip they played ??? Its a guy and it doesnt sound like LUcus or MIgma ( havent been watching thisshow for a long time) They said the ban d picked the winner couple weeks ago or somthing.
Ryan did get picked, and it was a few weeks before the final, but alas not as the winner. By my somewhat generous figuring you got 2 out of 3 points on your statement.

They will at the right time. What's under my craw is that "Tempest in a D-cup" is still there (and I don't mean Dilana)

this show has just all credibility for me. There is NO way Ryan should have gone before Storm,Toby or even Lukas. He's much more talented and the crowd(women) respond to him like a ...well...a rock star! Keeping Storm around so they can look at her tits every week is...weak. Dilana can sing like Janis Joplin but that's about it. She is not attractive and does not evoke the qualities of a power rock frontman/woman. The only way to possibly save this show now would be if Magni were to win it all but the way the voting has been I wouldn't be surprised if his number was up soon.

I thought Dilana's performance showed some serious flaws for her... There were lots of times where she looked like she was doing aerobics with all the hopping up and down she was doing.

I'm kinda sorry to see this year's Marty Casey (Ryan) leave so soon, but it was probably inevitable so you might as well put an end to all that screaming and angst now.

I swear Storm must being blowing the band to have gotten this far. Jill put on far more memorable performances and was better looking IMO, but she obviously didn't go down on Tommy and the boys. Storm's also a little too cocky by asking to be in the bottom three... hope she continues to get what she wants.

It was pretty amusing to see Magni sitting while everyone else was standing. I loved his reaction. Might have had something to do with begging for votes the night before. He seems like a pretty humble guy which should help him with the voters.

His awkward rendention of Baba O'Riley (actually more like shouting thru the whole song) and forced theatrics alone justified sending his ass home. It should be a crime for anyone to butcher a classic by The Who. Plus his "hmm where should I put my free hand" during his performance is back again. His performance was physically painful for me to watch last night especially the climbing the speakers/amps part. He does have song writing talent I'll give you that but this show is not called "who is the best song writer" now, is it?

As for Magni wining it all, I'm with you on that one.

The Supernova track sucked again, couldn't make out more than 5 words that Lukas sang.

regardless of who (whom?) is picked, I can't see them lasting longer than one album and one very short tour. As far as abominable performances go, do you remember J.D. Fortune's disgusting performance of Queen's "We are the Champions"? He should have been voted off for that right then. Now we're stuck with him...

They will flop so hard, the show is ranked like 58th in usa or somthing. Its suppose to be really popular in canada though. I dont think noone cares about the type of music there gona put out too, and not to mention, tommy lee is only doing this so he could get on tv ( anyone watch his show last year :D )

How come they never play any heavy songs? I like to hear somebody sing Metallica's enter sandman, GNR - Welcome to the Jungle or Motley Crue's - Kick start my heart. I think they should pick Toby, but Lukas has that dirty rock star look. Storm Large is the female version of Diamond David Lee Roth.

Tickets to see them in Vancouver $90.00!!! Crazy!

That question has been on my mind too. And the lack of classics too, no Led Zeppelin, ACDC, or even The Clash? Maybe the contestants are too young for those songs. This season with a heavier band (as opposed to INXS), I was expecting to hear some good classics.

At that price, I am guessing they are playing QE or Orpheum?

I think you're probably right, he was solid but didn't really blow SuperNova away and he's already been in the bottom 3 several times.

A couple weeks ago I thought Toby was done for but he's really picked up his performance in the last couple weeks, I can't see him going tonight.

Lukas has never been in the bottom 3 and SuperNova likes him, he isn't going anywhere.

Storm picked up her performance last night and SN really seemed to like her original, I think she bought herself another week.

Dilana's stock continues to drop but I think she's built up enough credit with the band to stick around. I mentioned a few weeks ago if song writing plays a big part in the bands decision it could hurt Dilana and I think I was right. Earlier in the competion they said her lyrics were corny, now they are telling her they are too literal and lack imagination. Between putting her foot in her mouth and her lack of song writing ability Dilana is no longer the person to beat.

the boys like her and clearly her BJ's are working!
That's kinda what I was thinking and I'm going to guess based on his comments last night that Dave is taking the mic stand up the ass from her... best original song from both seasons 1 & 2? This from the guy that jizzed all over himself listening to Marty Casey's "Trees"?

I think that the public voting is heavily influenced by the comments from the band and Dave, so it's probably logical to say that Storm will make it through another week.

Magni has been my favorite vocalist, but as a performer he's not that dynamic. I think SN is looking for someone dynamic on stage like Toby or Lukas. I hope I'm wrong since I like Magni the best, but all the comments from SN point to performances instead of actual singing ability.

I thought Dilana might have been that dynamic person, but based on her past couple of performances, her inability to handle pressure, her weak songwriting style and now her recent injury I think it'll be bye bye Dilana tonight.
