I just found out recently that Ian Astbury, frontman for The Cult, is touring as the frontman for The Doors.
Ya.
Those Doors.
Doin' all the hits like "L.A. Woman", "Riders On The Storm'" and the like.
They're doin' the Commodore tomorrow night.

Man. The Commodore. Hip-Hop must be killin' these guys.

Ian Astbury playin at the Commodore? Am I in a time warp? WTF? Kinda like Rush playin at the local pub. How things have changed.

I think small intimate venues are better. It doesn't necessarily mean that a big group can't fill a stadium, if anything they are just building momentum and desire from fans.

Ian Astbury was the original choice to play Morrison in the film which was played by Val Kilmer.

Actually it was Billy Idol but he had a motorcycle accident and could not recover in time to shoot the movie. Nevertheless he was in the movie in a much reduced role. I am a big Doors/Billy Idol/Cult fan, and just wanted to set the record straight.
