Rock of Ages. The musical based on the hit Broadway play. A love story involving uninteresting (but beautiful) couple with the backdrop of the late 80's softmetal music scene of Los Angeles. Not a particularly bad film yet it's not a particularly good film either. Performances from the cast are unforgettable with the exception of two people. Alec Balwin steals the film as the owner of the Bourbon Room (think Whiskey A Go Go in LA yet the movie was filmed in Miami). Total opposite of his 30 Rock character. The other performance I loved was the over the top performance by Catherine Zeta-Jones, a crusader against heavy metal music.
