Hey Adventurer,
That is not bad at all. If you book a table at Lumiere,just the dinner itself will set you back around $350-400. Afterward,let say have a room at Sheraton Wall Centre ,you will pay an addition of $300 plus. My arrangement is already over $700.
To your suggestion,it is definitely good value!

i have a better idea that wont cost you much but is still very romantic.i think its better than going to an expensive resturant.
go buy a picnic basket and fill it with stuff a nice bottle of wine or champagne,strawberries,whip cream,chocalate dipping sauce(dessert)
and for a main course finger foods are good so you can feed each other eg.cheese and crackers,sandwiches cut in fours,pizza hey even sushi
oh yeah one more thing make sure you dont forget a blanket and maybe some candels would be nice.
personally i think that would impres me more than an expensive resturant.it shows you put some thought into it and it will leave a lasting impression

I've actually have experienced a picnic dinner and it went over very well. I'd really appreciate recommendations on some good locations preferable near the water. If they also have a little bit of privacy that would be better.
After all, a little outdoor sex would be a fine finish to a picnic no?? ;-)

Why wait to have a romantic dinner? Take your gal out to Sunday brunch - Vancouver has many great places that are romantic for brunch and also cost less than dinner.

Horizon was one of the places that I knew about. We did wind up going there and you are correct. GREAT good, super service, (the waiter stayed clear while we were sitting there obviously more into each other than the view or the dessert menu). Dessert was wonderful also but we didn't select it from the restaurant menubigdman said:
