MORONS - Maverick's Original Reality shOw is back oN... Survivor!

H

Ok, this thread title is once again dedicated to Maverick73 the ultimate reality TV show junkie. From now on whenever I see MORONS I will think of Mav...
.

Survivor is back for another season, this time it's Survivor: Cook Islands. The catch for this year's show is that there will be 4 tribes whose members are based on race. There will be an Asian tribe, Hispanic tribe, Black tribe, and Caucasian tribe. I think the last Survivor also started out with 4 teams based on gender and age and they ended up merging into two tribes fairly quickly so if this season follows the same pattern I don't know if a race based Survivor is anything more than a quick gimmick to get us all to watch.

More importantly who are the hotties for this year? It's kinda tough to tell based on one photo but my early favorite hottie to watch so far is Candace...

Well what did everyone think of the first show last night? So far the teams have been split into different racial heritages: Caucasian, African American, Hispanic, and Asian. I found it interesting that the Asians were the only group that actually made the distinction that although everyone in the Puka Puka tribe were Asian, they in fact all came from different and distinct heritages within the Asian community and actually mentioned what the family history was for each Puka Puka tribe member. I didn't see the other tribes doing that and if I ever heard any caucasians doing that I think I would be shocked. I just can't imagine a conversation along the lines of "Hey another white guy, you look like you're Danish, possibly Swedish heritage"... "Nope, sorry 100% Anglo Saxon"..:D . All in all this year's hook of dividing by race seems pretty weak and I'm already looking forward to merging the tribes into two bigger tribes.

All in all, this year's group looks pretty good but I don't see any hotties that jump out. Almost every year there's a hottie or two that captures my eye, but not this year. Anyone stand out for you guys... or gals?

It's perhaps too early to tell, but so far I like Cao Boi and hope he does well. He doesn't look like a guy that would have served with the 82nd Airborne, but that's what it states in his bio.

Other miscellaneous thoughts:

What's with giving the losing tribe fire and a flint after tribal council? That hasn't happened before... may the show is starting to get a little soft.

Can't believe that the Rarotonga tribe (Caucasians) gave up on chasing the chickens so easily, especially Jessica (Rollergirl) who let them go.

Did the Aitutaki tribe (Hispanics) get any airtime at all?

I was forced to watch it last night, and was not surprised to see back stabbing and shit going already. The 2 black guys trying to get the other black chick to vote whats her name off. Backfired and the fat black guy got canned.

Buncha pussies can't even make fire on their own, might as well just passed out zippo lighters at the council thing.

I like it when they start getting on each others nerves and the petty bickering starts up.

Survivor always disappoints me. Time after time, the most interesting people are voted out first. This time it was the jazz musician who had worked with Quincy Jones, Ray Charles, and many of the greats in the business.

If my bad luck continues to hold, the next voted out will be the performance artist with the body art and the dreadlocks. She looks much too cool for the rest of those whiteys.

Survivor is a JOKE

I watched the first Survivor and I have never watched another episode since.
This so called reality TV show is a JOKE and a waste of time to watch but that is only my opinion.

That was hilarious. More on the Asian thingy. I actually do the same thing when I meet other Asians for the 1st time. I have no idea why. I was hoping the Asian tribe would include one of each from the following heritage: Chinese, Japanses, Korean and Vietnam. I guess I got 1 out of 4 which kinf of sucked. If they had that mix up, the Asian tribe would be very interesting to watch.

After missing the opening minutes,I was hooked to watch Survivor...Sadly the Asian tribe wasn't much of an all star Asia.Just mainly Vietnamese. And Cao Boi (hippie Asian)"I don't belong to my heritage".Got that right.

Actually you got at least two. There are two Koreans (Yul and Becky) and 1 Vietnamese (Cao Boi) on this tribe. There's also a Philipino (Jenny) and Brad is mixed heritage.

Man alive, how bad do you have to be for your own tribe to throw a challenge just so that they can vote you off... and they REALLY had to throw it to lose. Things don't bode well for the Hiki tribe who were working their asses off and still barely managed to beat Aitu. I understand why Aitu voted Billy off, I just don't agree with it, especially when you miss out on the reward challenge prize of a tarp at the same time.

Having said all that... Billy.... WHAT AN IDIOT! He was smart enough to realize at the end that the rest of the team threw the challenge and he would be the next to go, but c'mon shouldn't he have known that could happen when he was laying around doing nothing? I would think that the last thing anyone would want to be is deadweight so early into the show. And does he really think that Candice loves him? :D

Is Adam the Raro version of Billy? I can't believe that he would get into an argument about the benefits of sleeping on the ground instead of building a floor to sleep on... I guess when you've got a snuggle buddy in Candice everything is good. I also found it amusing that the Puka and Aitu tribes were feasting on chicken and fish/ crab/ clams while the Raros were laying around going hungry.

Is Yul really smart or did the producers make finding the hidden immunity idol on Exile Island far too easy? He sure made it look easy. His brains and body normally would make him a favorite to win Survivor, but it looks like the competition are already putting a target on him. I'm thinking that if he kept a shirt on to hide all his muscles he might not get picked on as much... probably too late now.

So what DO you call a Vietnamese with three dogs? I can't believe they left us hanging like that! Shame! :D

How far do you have to look to find people so stupid? One week in and you intentionally throw a challenge? And the reason - as the two hunks were plotting against Fat Boy - was "We can't trust HIM."
Best comments on survivor are from Jimmy Kimmel who calls it Survivor - Race Wars. Claims the white tribe was trying to hire the Latinos to clean their hut.

This past episode made me laugh. JP and Ozzie were the two masterminds behind giving Billy the boot cause they thought that Billy was lazy, so what does the genius JP do... lay around and do nothing of course! Might as well hang a sign around his neck saying "Vote me off!"

I loved seeing the women take charge and orchestrate how the voting was to take place instead of letting it happen. They might have gotten a little weaker at challenges by getting rid of JP, but the women might get a little help around camp from the men who are a little vulnerable.

The commercials for this week didn't paint Cao Boi in a good light with him knocking over the bird's nest, but I thought the actual events were kinda tame in comparison. The commercials also made it appear that it was all Cao Boi, but it was really a couple people involved including Jonathan. Editing!

Survivor is a waste of time, that is only my opinion;) . I prefer to watch the Amazing Race:cool: . The Amazing Race has you viewing different countries and it involves some of the cultural events or customs in each of the countries the contestants visit during each episode:cool:

It's cool to have your opinion, but I have a couple of questions for you...

  • Why bother posting in a Survivor thread that you don't like to watch Survivor... twice? I understood you in post #5, why feel the need to repeat yourself?
  • Fine I get it... you don't like Survivor but who the f*ck cares? What makes you think that I or anyone else wants to know that you don't like Survivor?
Rather than jump into a thread and announce that you don't like the topic of the thread, why not at least be constructive and offer up WHY you don't like the topic of the thread, at least that way I won't end up rolling my eyeballs and saying BFD!

I look forward to seeing your Amazing Race thread.

What is your problem:confused: ? Mister Know it all!

Sorry horny, I don't have a problem, I was just curious why you feel it so important to post (twice) that you don't like Survivor. You did the same thing in my Baseball thread. If you don't like the topic of the thread, why bother reading and posting in it?

I just think that if you're going to knock the topic of the thread, you should offer up some legitimate reasons why you don't like the topic of the thread so that we can have a discussion. Simply commenting that "Survivor is a joke" without commenting WHY you think it's a joke gives me nothing to comment on except to question why you think we care what you think.

It's kind of a Quid Pro Quo sort of thing.

So you just want people to post that agree with you. Sounds like a dictator:rolleyes:

Not at all. I simply questioned why you would bother posting your opinion (twice) without explaining your opinion.

You're the one that's posting in a thread clearly marked "Survivor" and offering up your opinion that Survivor sucks. What makes you think that anyone cares what your opinion is of this show? Now if you had listed some reasons why you don't like Survivor I'd take your comments more seriously. Until then it's just your opinion and to that I say BFD!

Although after reading your comment about the dictator I can clearly see that it is fitting that you should be posting in a thread with a title "MORONS"

What kind of a fuckin' 'tard was Cao Boi to climb a tree and attack the booby looking for eggs? Most likly the baby was going to die. Surprised the producers don't have some plan in place to keep these idiots from destroying the local animal population.
