There is something big in the wind coming from Montreal tonight.

What I know, it involves a few of their players.

I am told it will be huge!!!

Anyone hear anything else. Drugs? Sex? Steriods? Take your pick.

Sounds like the Police are waiting for the team at the airport...

I hear it stems from a team party last week.
Possibly involving sexual assault, and underage girls. Also rumours of players trying to buy coke from an undercover cop.

They have acknowledged the story on The Team 1040, but won't get into details until the story actually comes out. Habs management are all in their office having damage control meetings right now.

Price, Kostitsyn, Gorges, Higgins are the name I've heard mentioned.

This will be interesting.

Headline reads:" A criminal linked to three players from the Canadiens"

Text below: "The brothers Sergei and Andrei Kostistyn and Roman Hamrilik involved with an alleged member of organized crime charged with drug trafficking"

It seems it may be much ado about nothing. Apparently the Kostitsyn brothers are linked with "a suspected member of organized crime" named Pasquale Mangiola who was arrested on charges of drug trafficking.

The police have several conversations recorded between Mangiola and the Kostitsyns and he's described as their "great friend."

RDS says Mangiola "would do a number of services for both players on their outings to bars."

The latest is that:

Mangiola is apparently a big hockey fan and had gotten quite close to the Kostitsyns. He spoke "several times a week" to both brothers and they were often seen partying together.

The paper reports that he "played an important role in the life of the duo," taking them under his wing and helping them find housing and cars.

Mangiola also apparently had access to the players' credit card statements.

The Kostitsyns would call him often with requests for various items and Mangiola acted "like a handyman" to fulfill their needs.

The players do not appear to be involved in any criminal activity themselves.

The story ends by saying that police in Montreal meet with Habs players every year to "warn them against the dangers facing professional athletes out of the rink ... the NHL also cautions players on a regular basis" about the fact organized crime members may try to get close to them.

I think this will be written off as two young guys from another country who were caught up in the wrong crowd.
