Recently a former member of this board was sending out a face picture of someone, looking for confirmation that it was one of the
providers on our website. This was scary on so many levels, here is why...

1) If it was not the actual provider, some random person's face is being shopped around associated with being a sex worker and they don't even know it's happening.

2) If it was the actual provider, this puts their life in danger, how people react to finding out someone is a sex worker can result in physical and mental abuse.

I want to thank first off the community here, for the member that sent me the 3 am DM to say -
I know this isn't the person I saw, but did you know this picture is being associated with them, do you know who this person is?

My heart sank for this person in the picture, do they even know they are being stalked like this, are they even a SWer, so many questions.

Secondly, I want to thank the MOD team of PERB - in the past with other requests of this nature I did not see the same type of compassion,
care and immediate response as I did with this instance, and I have to say - I was impressed, so thank you.

Just a friendly PSA -

If someone contacts you showing a face picture of a PRO, and asking you to confirm
if that is them IRL - do not engage. Honour their privacy - just as we do yours.
The stigmatization that sex workers (and their patrons) receive is disgusting,
as a community we should instinctively watch out for each other when a bad actor
swims into our pond.
