.... and I wasn`t sure which thread I should add to... so I just started a new one! lol

First - I found this website really helpful in comparing different plans from any of the providers, so there is no need to jump back and forth from one website to another. Depending on the province+city you select, all available carriers for your location will be displayed.

You can select specific plans/carriers and have them displayed side by side with all relevant info (up to 4 plans at a time). They seem to have up-to-date info, including promos and such, as well as additional info on each carrier. Anyway, I really found it useful:

http://www.comparecellular.com/compare-rate-plans/

Also - I just thought I would add a couple of options that haven`t been mentioned - in case anyone has any feedback or wasn`t aware. I came across those two while using the above site to compare and was surprised I`d never even heard of the first one.

- Sears Connect - which seems to be on Rogers Network but that`s as much as I know, so if anyone has any experience or info, please share :)

- Primus - I knew of Primus` other services but wasn`t aware they also offered mobile options. Also appears to be on Rogers` network.

And finally - just wondering if anyone has any feedback about using Virgin Mobile?
It hasn`t been mentioned much at all so far and I`m considering them right now...

Mobilicity (currently serves just the Toronto area) is expanding and should be in Calgary and Vancouver by sometime next spring.

If I can land a Nexus One phone from them, I'll be a happy camper.

Never been a Telus customer? :D

They are all that and a whole lot more.

Sure I am with Rogers, they are not perfect and their customer service has a lot to be desired but it totally rocks compared with Telus.

Coming soon to Western Canada is Shaw communications which already has their backhaul in place through their cable and internet. I have been told they will be extremely competitive.

Today i called and asked for a discount from fido again and was told no discount for you unless you sign a agreement lol. Then i told them i'll call back in a few mins to cancel and they say ok. So i call wind to ask them about getting set up and transferring my number from fido. Ten mins later i call fido and gave them 30 days notice and i get a huge discount cause my contract is expiring late nov. Wind is offering 240.00 off for 12 months and fido can almost match it (I didnt wanna get one of winds retarded handsets). I just dont like the idea of bargaining with fido/rogers much cause their rates should be automatic and not having customers threatening to leave.

While having a 15 min conversation with fido they kept on wanting me to sign and get a freebie phone. Im loving the month by month situation and can leave fido anytime. What ticked me off the most about fido/rogers was they tried to convince me i dont need unlimited talk anytime and the stupid bitch customer support said most people talk under 2000 mins a month. I remember a few years back I talked over so many daytime mins and fido charged me up the ass for it. These idiots have such a short memory.

Their idea of solving a problem is giving a free phone and extending the contract term. Neither one of these options fix the service problems they have in their organization. Again I can't speak for other companies but Rogers has some serious issues and I would not recommend them to anyone.

What makes you think they forgot?

They still want to stick charges up your ass.

It is the business plan, you know.

i negotiated 30.00 for talk anytime unlimited calling with voicemail unlimited access,2500 text, caller display with no contract ..month to month with fido. That is cheaper than any chatr and almost as cheap as wind. The 30.00 rate expires at the end of 12 months and goes back to 45.00 but i can quit anytime. So it's almost a matching situation to wind but i dont have to buy one of those retarded wind cellphones. Just give them notice that you are leaving and someone would offer you a competitive deal. That's a 180.00 discount from what chatr is offering. But even after 12 months i think fido and all cellphone plans would be hella cheaper than they are now. So being not locked into anything is a benefit.

So what plan did you end up with?

How many minutes included & what other services included?

Did you have to sign a contract & if so how long?

Well, what did you negotiate with Fido?

Not sure if u paid too much but wind has a infinite data phone and laptop plan for 25.00 a month(first 12 months) but not sure if you wanna buy one of their retarded phones. I was told by them they have something like a tab or whatever that u can get to pay off a phone. Im currently on their infinite laptop for 25 a month for my netbook. But either way long as you're not locked into some longterm deal you can negotiate with these bastards.

So that's 25.00 talk anytime anywhere in canada for the first 12 months, voivemail, caller id
also 25.00 for the infinite laptop deal/cellphone deal. Im always on the net with the laptop deal and not a bad deal.

Anybody got better than that?

Happy with the rate im getting but still pissed at rogers/fido for making me negotiate and having to threaten to leave. Whenever wind has some phones i like then im gone without hesitation. Right now im still not that convinced about winds service and reception. I'll wait till they have more things built for reception n towers etc.

It's actually infinite data for 45.00 and they are offering it for 25.00 as a discounted rate. If you look at the specials they are offering 240.00 off per yr on the infinite laptop so that's 20.00 a month off. I was told it's 35.00 for cellphones though for infinite data plan for 12 months. But again unless you have a certain type of blackberry not sure u wanna switch phones. So being with fido/rogers might be the best bet.

http://shop.windmobile.ca/ProductCatalog/DataPlans/

But if you go over 5 gb of data per month the service is slower a dad bit ....atleast that's what customer service told me(that's their fair usage policy) but it's still infinite usage per month.

Was also looking at a list that has phones compatiable with wind mobile. Fido is giving me a good rate right now but they are a bunch of assholes at customer support. Have to constantly complain for them just to match other offers. So might just take off on fido cause kinda ticked at their customer support over the years.

ya LAG i agree with you on the customer service support. it just seems like those fu**kers just wanna make a paycheque and not forgetting, do some of them can speak simply english... also i am not sure but it seems that a lot of customer service job openings are just going to take anyone these days. i wonder if they have full knowledge on cell phones these days and not just saying knowledge on the iphone and blackberry... but ya thanks again for the sharing the link about reviews on cell phone and cell phone companies.

Yes they are hiring complete retards at rogers/fido. The one i dealt with told me they match all offers of competitors. Then when i told him wind are offering 240.00 off for 12 months and canada wide unlimited anytime minutes ....was told oh winds offer is too good and cant match it. Had to remind the idiot a few times what they said about matching offers before i got a better deal.

Welcome to a country which people are not ready to have a high competition!
