Madonna - Confessions on a Dance Floor - back to the old school Madonna... haven't listened to all of it yet, but I like it so far! $9.99 can't go wrong...

Eurythmics - The Ultimate Collection - Bought it mainly for "Sweet Dreams" theme song from the Apprentice Martha Stewart... I love how that song always make me think of Cold Hearted Bitches... kind of a turn on in a strange way... so far so good... got 19 songs on it... For $14.99, not bad at all... remaster sounds really nice, unlike some remasters.

Alanis Morisette - The Collection... haven't heard it yet, but looks good on paper... I've been a casual fan of hers over the years, but never enough to actually buy a CD... got hooked on her Acoustic version of Jagged Little Pill... this compilation will probably satisfy my casual interest in her... 18 songs + 1 bonus song hidden within the CD. $13.99 can't go wrong.

I also saw Dire Straights - best of Private Investigations... now I've already got pretty much all of the Dire Straights stuff (even 2 versions of Brothers in arms... 1 reg. CD and 1 CD/SACD!), even the Sultans of Swing 16 song compilation (which doesn't sound as good as the originals on each separate CD by the way... the vocals sound a bit less natural and many of the songs are shortened versions... I'll take my 8:26 version of Money for Nothing thank you very much)... but it's hard to resist another Dire Straights CD... maybe I will pick this up later in the week...

Also saw a compilation of Cyndi Lauper... I've already got the "Essential Cyndi Lauper" but I'm tempted to get it for the new version of Girls just wanna have fun... Lenny's theme song! LOL :D

Is this compilation week or something? I saw all of these for the first time at FS today!

It seems like there are a lot of compilations/greatest hits recently. I just got The Offspring: Greatest Hits and I want to get the new Matthew Good compilation.

Also I have heard a lot of bands doing covers of songs 10+ years old. Just heard a cover of "Land of Confusion" which was actually pretty good. Personally I love all of these recent re-releases because 99% of the new music is crap.
