Couple factors to consider:
1. It's his first week in the poll so he's getting a lot of "controlled load" syndrome.
2. The Edmonton community seems to be voting as a town.

Once it gets down to the final 3, the vancouver/victoria voters will have to choose between 2 candidates (assuming the towns continue to vote as complete towns in general) instead of being spread out over 8 candidates.... so that will closen up the vote. Furthermore, the final vote will be over a long period of time... to allow election campaigns to happen .

It should be interesting... although right now I would have to agree with you, based on the numbers alone, Trawler is looking good.

I think I got a system to make sure the best candidates move on... more news to come.

Tentative system is to cut 1-2 this week, move 1 into the "finals", and then do 2 more week-long votes to get 2 more people into the "finals" (so that the votes from the "finalee" will then be spread over the remaining candidates in the interm)... and then do a 3-way race until the end of 2005. Right now, it looks like Trawler is a sure bet to make the final 3.

I think this should be a fairly fool proof way of getting the best 3 into the finals... any feedback?

Maybe you could use an STV ballot. Then you could have the winner fingered out in one ballot .

Kind of. But it would mean a lot more work on your part. People would have to list their preferences in the form of posts. Then at the end of the voting period you would have to go thru each post and tally the choices, then do the calculations based on that. I imagine the manual tally would be the longest and most difficult step.

I realize it is hard for the Vancouver crowd to believe, but Trawler is THE MAN when it comes to pooning. Mostly the Edmonton scene (which, as others have said, he knows better than the SPs and MP owners themselves) but he has also commented on the scene in Calgary, Vancouver, TO among other places. He has posted extensive reviews, of quality and tact like no other. He shares his info willing to all that ask. He does not get involved in petty games, name calling or political discussions...that is probably why no one outside of Edmonton knows him.

No disrespect, but all you others post mostly non-review type stuff...political, social, current event, or silly filler type stuff. I am sure that your actual reviews, as a percent of total posts, wouldn't even come close to Trawler.

And after all, this is a review board. So if you want to see a true pooning legend, the epitome of pooners, check out Trawler's posting history. Sure we are voting en bloc, but that is because we know the truth.

I agree with WalterMitty, but that's not to say some of the other candidates aren't worthy. hitrack's tales of the strolls and the 7-Elevens of Vancouver are legendary, and Hipster Doofus is the guru of the Victoria scene.
