I don't mean miracle in the religious sense, but I have witnessed things that were rare and beautiful. At the time never realizing how unlikely I'd ever see the same event in my lifetime.

One memory from my childhood occurred while spending the summer on my grandmother’s farm. It had been raining for what I remember as at least a full week. The rain ended, but the sky was still covered in dark heavy clouds. As I lay on my back, a small tear in the clouds above me showed a ragged patch of blue. Within no more than two minutes, the clouds shredded themselves into small wisps and disappeared over the horizon. It was amazing and I’ve spent the rest of my life waiting to see it happen again.

I have a few more of these small gems tucked away in my memory. I wonder whether anyone else has similar memories they would like to share.

Another that comes to mind is a spring day walking along the edge of the Assinaboine River in Winnipeg. The snow had mostly melted but the river was still solid ice from bank to bank and bend to bend (have a look at a map and you will see this river resembles a snake with a broken back). The day was calm and sunny. The area where I stood was far from the hustle, bustle and noise of city life. As I stood reveling in the stillness, there was a loud crack. The river ice split, forming a long diagonal scar along its erstwhile glassy surface. The pent up energy of the flowing current shattered the remaining mass and suddenly a pack of miniature ice bergs went speeding down stream, out of my view. In what seemed like seconds, the river was running clear (if you can cull muddy brown clear). Winter was over. Spring had arrived.

Thinking of this now, it’s clear to me that the river before and after the loop of river I could see must have already been clear of ice. Otherwise the ice would have piled up instead of clearing away so quickly and chunks of ice from further downstream would have been chasing my newly created slabs.

Chance of ever seeing a repeat. None.

I'll share one.

I think it's amazing that no one has taken the time to add to either of your posts, so I have one.

Mines pretty generic. I've witnessed that, on a daily basis, people actually take the time to notice on another. To actually stop to say hello, or to lend a helping hand. The kind words or attention always is unexpected. Wouldn't it be nice if this sort of thing happened more often?

a few weeks ago actually i witnessed a birth, and helped out as it were,

nothing spectacular, it was only a cow. but it looked like it was having some trouble, and my phone rang, an amazing conicidence actually,

it was a farm girl i know, and she asked me what i was doing. and i said this cow looks like its having some trouble a foot is like out but nothing much else seems to be going on.
and she said give it a pull.
and i said your joking right.

no she wasn't,
well eventually i did, and it all came cushing out. im not sure, if my intervention was needed or not, but it was kindof a neat experiance,
i will never forget.
i have never seen a birth before of any kind

disgusting though because i went and cleaned up, and came back, and moma cow was eating her placenta.

now that is gross.
