Sad news...our trip is cancelled

Dear Gentlemen,

My dear friend/"sister" Michelle is very sick. She has a fever of over a hundred. We were supposed to fly to Calgary in a few hours but fate has decided otherwise. I will drive her to the hospital instead.

I can't begin to tell you how sad I am, not only to know that my friend is so sick but to miss the opportunity to go to Calgary as planned. We spent a lot of time, energy and money planning this trip and it is a great loss for us in many ways. We were looking forward to this trip.

I hope you understand that we are canceling on you for a VERY good reason. Michelle is in no condition to fly right now and even if she would go through that painful experience, I feel that out of consideration for you, it is better that we stay here than go to Calgary and make everybody sick.

I hope we can plan another trip to Calgary when she is feeling better.
