I must have missed the post that suggested to clean up the mice shit first... Don't touch the shit because it's still shit. Then try all those ideas...

How ironic that a mouse trap ad turned up on my social media feed this morning. The trap looks like an effective, inexpensive and easy idea to lure vermin without hurting them.
Expose of them how you may after that. You can find the Flip n Slide (sounds like a cute name for Nuru to me) on Amazon for $26-$27!!
I'm so glad I no longer live in an old house, downtown to have rats running around being nasty assholes.

I been there dun dat. with 2 different cars in the past 2 years. 06 Chrysler product whe the 5.7 hemi. Car is in the carport alone for only 3 days... I fire it up. Missing like crazy. Pull the engine cover... the wireing harness for the ignition chewed in severl plces.. apparently in their wisdom to be enviromentallly friendly they made them with a soy based insulation. Rats LOVE it. So spend a lot of trime soldering new wire in place, somebody suggested peppermint oil. Smells great but within a week I detect them back in there... Moth balls in a sock... Lasted only a few days as well. Same with Cayanne. At the local garden/farm store in their poison closet..... a spray can of rodent and pest repellant. ... No smell I could detect and it has been good for about a month now. I also found that in our collector car;.... I just leave the hood open. they dont seem to bother with it when open and exposed. I do not like nor do I suggest any kinds of poison. Here we have several predictors for mice and rats, cats, and Owls who almost rely on mice and rats, and then Eagles, Ravins, crows and other raptors.

What rodents are attracted to is the plastic coating around the wires. Newer vehicles use a soy based material that is like peanut butter to them. older vehicles use a petroleum base. This is why rodent infestation is becoming more frequent over time (I see s lot of it, especially when people live near construction sites)

Go to your nearest Honda dealer and ask the parts department for "rodent tape". It's like electricians tape with a spice in it that drives the rodents away. Very effective at repelling and keeping them out.

Wrap it around the wires or any area you see evidence of infestation. The tape retails for about $70.00

To repair any damaged wires, use liquid electrician's tape. It goes on with a brush like a liquid glue and hardens like rubber. It will insulate any exposed wires. Use 2-3 coats, wait 24 hours between applications

If you are going to stuff something, stuff with coarse steel wool.
That might work but you need to exactly where the rodents are getting in and be able to plug that access point for it to be effective. Cheap, floral dryer sheets with an overpowering smell are more effective in the broader sense.
