The problem with Al Gore and his environmental radical friends is that they are willing to lie to reap the profits of the "necessary action" they advocate.
Global Warming/Climate Change is real. Oceanographers at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography California tried for years to get the world to listen to their concerns. However, it wasn't until money could be made making and selling alternative sources of energy that people decided that the world must do something now.
The reality is that it's already too late. As one of the original researchers put it "once you have fired the gun, you can't recall the bullet"
I suppose that's why Al Gore's shameless hypocrisy bothers people that really care. Getting speeding tickets in a Ford Expedition, flying to events in a personal jet aircraft, living in a house that uses 12 times the natural gas and 25 times the electricity of a normal house, living less than a meter above sea level when we are supposed to think that sea level is going to rise by 10 or meters. Al Gore is why the deniers have it so easy.
