There seems to be quite a few agencies and providers operating in the Metrotown area. Personally I haven’t been out there since before COVID started. I am sure since that time another zillion condos have appeared.

That being said, is there still street parking available in that area? Where do you recommend parking? Any chance of parking in Metrotown mall for a couple of hours without getting ticketed?

The new zoning will allow a zillion more condos too!
Depending on your appointment, fair bit of street parking, some metered, some time limited.
Not that frequent a visitor but I have not had a problem.

Parking a couple of hours or even 3 hours @ metrotown, you'll be fine. I've been going metrotown for years and I park there on average over 2 hours and I've gotten ticketed.
Don't over think this. This thread doesn't need to be discussed further. You'll be fine parking there.

It’s ok for him to park up to 3 hours but you’ve been parking there for years (on average for over 2 hours) and have been ticketed?

One thing is sure, if you park in the Metrotown underground, use an apple tag or some kind of locator. Despite noting the Letter of the area and the number, taking a picture of the area, and noting the exit, fuck if I can walk to my car straight away.

On the street behind Metrotown, behind the Skytrain, there is tons of street parking. I used to park there when taking the Skytrain downtown. No issues.

I have parked at Bonsor community centre a couple of times, or in the underground mall parking not far from it.
Just don't do an overnighter.

That mall is the only place I have had the Seinfeld-like experience of not being able to find my car.

I grew up in South Burnaby and was at Metrotown mall on opening day, back in the mid 1980's (yes I am that old!...ha ha)
The area has changed dramatically over the years....most notably with all the new towers being built. That said, I never park in the underground lot there...rather I focus on the area just south of the mall/ skytrain....there are a number of small streets that feed off Imperial St., that run up towards Beresford (also from Nelson ave on the east and Patterson ave on the west)
Most of these are lined with older apartments ( the ones that haven't been torn down yet)....with street parking available...paid meters up close to the skytrain, free parking down closer to Imperial. Normally I find free parking down there and walk north. It's a 2-3 minute walk up to where most of the towers are that many amp and private sp's host from

and if they see you leave the parking lot you are towed
Just go up to the mall and exit through the bus loop. Even if there are cameras tracking (which I doubt) those who park downstairs, you are blending with the crowd.
