This is what i found on a website about alleged police corruption in the sex trade industry in Edmonton. this group is claiming that a Edmonton police officer was suspected of possibly being a serial killer but the information was supressed in the media.

I remember hearing that a number of the murdered ladies had handcuff marks on their wrists. makes ya wonder

I actually took a few seconds out of my life to read their mission statement, and I think they are misguided at best.

If they are so concerned about the welfare of street girls, what are they doing taking a hidden camera into a MP? Don't they know that if they manage to bust an MP, that will just result in more girls on the street?

As for the cop-murderer allegations, I agree to take this with a huge grain of salt. (1) it's easy to get a pair of handcuffs, and (2) a lot of prostitutes live their life off the grid, which makes it difficult to carry out any murder investigation. Look at Rikki from MMC when she was killed (I met her and she seemed nice and may she rest in peace)... her own family hadn't talked to her in months prior to her murder.

More media supression tactics by the police ??

I just did a follow up visit to that site and a recent update is claiming that it now appears that the police may be at it again in regards to supressing potentially embarrassing information.

Links on the Edmonton Journal website and others that worked last week now all of a sudden don't work anymore!

Is it perhaps because the information now has the tendency to be damaging to the police in light of what has been reported.

Hmmmmmmm, I thought this was a country that enjoyed "freedom of the press". I guess the question for me is who really is controlling the Journal and these other publications ? Maybe it should instead be "freedom of the police to supress the press".

Hi Guillieme,

Are you part of the C.L.A.S.S. group?

Respectfully,

I'm also trying to figure out how CLASS thinks they are helping the girls out by busting massage parlours.

Girls, if you see this guy in your studio again and want to get rid of him, you have the right to charge him with trespassing:

http://www.duhaime.org/LegalResources/TortPersonalInjury/LawArticle-194/Intentional-Torts.aspx
Business usually invite persons upon their premises; so there’s lawful authority. Permission is implied – therefore, no trespass.

But a visitor’s welcome can be revoked/cancelled at any time and the person must leave or she/he is then trespassing.

Revocation cannot be based on prohibited grounds of discrimination but otherwise, business are free to exclude whoever they wish.

Also, once he is considered a trespasser, then anything he films while on your premises is a probable violation of your privacy rights under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which means it would not be admissible in court anyway.

why C L A S S is wanting to do this either... plus its entrapment anyway .. which is illegal.
Alyson, I don't believe entrapment is illegal in Canada. My understanding is that is an American constitutional issue.

In other words, asking if someone is a cop in Canada and having him say "no" when he in fact is, is of no value. Think of the Mr. Big sting that received so much publicity recently.

CLASS Canada shows their real class!

Take a look at this news report video on the CTV website about police laying human trafficking charges against operators of Sachi Spa in the Edmonton west end.

Look closely at some of the video frames - "Courtesy of Class Canada" .

http://watch.ctv.ca/news/clip212149#clip212149

Was it perhaps because of these videos posted by Class Canada which included Sachi Spa that the police started an investigation and ended up rescuing those ladies? Stay tuned for more details in the weeks ahead. :D

Well, if Class Canada had anything to help these ladies out, it is a step in the right direction for them.

BUT, they also did a big disservice to the women who really like/want to be in this business by bringing so much to light on the youtube videos.

Yes, prostitution should be legal. Just go through the proper channels. Go out there and get a consensus of people, go out there and get things changed legally.

Get petitions, from the workers themselves. Study what goes on in the Euro countries and make a case. Don't flagrantly take sneaky videos of what goes on here. You are only hurting the girls that do work here.

I know something about you, I know you tried to make it better. I just think you are going about it in the wrong way.

Peace.
