The prompt when you click on the Members list says...

Sorry! The administrator has disabled the list of members.

The powers of PERB have disabled the Members list. I wonder whats up?

Could it be that they are going through the list and checking out who posts and who doesn't? The word a few months ago was if you didn't post 5 posts a month your privelages would be revoked........or something to that affect. Hmmmm --- Kev

actually

I asked Fred Zed about that as it's not only the members list but the email feature in the profiles as well. and he quite simply said that membership is growing however the revenue being generated from advertisers is not enough to keep things going as they are. guess we need more paid advertisers to the site.

Well, I think that if this was a pay site that would go a long way in filtering out the posers.
As for the SP's, there's no way to tell who's paying to advertise and who's not anymore. Bring back the scarlett letters!

Paige Welcome Back!

Personally I wouldn't like to see this turn into a paysite either, but with the lack of advertising revenue Fred needs something to keep this site going. I remember when I found this site there was a donation feature. It didn't seem like an anonymous way of donating a green or two so I didn't bother.

I kinda like Paige's ideas here. But of course, I've enjoyed her tasty ideas elsewhere too!

As a result of my personal choice, Paiges current "main" location is not one that I can play in. So, any Vancouver Island or Edmonton ladies or agencies willing to forward donations on our behalf? During each month that I visit a lady, who is a known Contributor, I'd be willing to offer a token contribution for the lady to forward with her next contribution to PERB. If you're concerned about your donation actually making it to Fred, well, maybe send him a PM saying it's on the way? Personally, I think that the Contributing ladies are pretty straight up gals, so it shouldn't be an issue.

In the telethon spirit, maybe that should be a challenge to all PERBites. PERB would have all sorts of special features, the ladies could have their scarlett letters again, and Fred might even get rich.

But if we're going to pay, I'd like to see an attempt made to end the nuisance posts. Perhaps that would relieve the various stresses which are said to be having an effect on PERB. Keep the reviews on topic, if you want to steer it in a different direction, or turn it into one that reflects another lady, start a different one. If you've got something to say that really should be in the Lounge - put it there. I'm amongst those who thought that the primary purpose of a review board was for reviews, and that chat was for chat rooms. Now, BEFORE YOU FLAME ME, I've made the choice to stay and participate in what PERB has evolved into. So I'm on the "If you can't beat 'em, either join 'em or accept them" team. To each his/her own, if you don't like it don't read it, etc., etc.. But why trash someone for simply expressing a view that may not match yours, as has happened more than once recently? My personal review to post ratio is reasonably good, but I'll continue to make a serious effort to make sure that I avoid posting the kind of comments about which I speak.

I'd like to see those ladies who pay their way recognized again. After all, are they not the main reason that we joined up?

Vancouver - sort of
Simple solution

Purchase a Canada Post money order at any postal outlet - no ID required and no paper trail except what you choose to keep. No doubt Fred Zed would provide a mailing address to accomodate you. You could ask him to acknowledge receipt by a message to your private email addy.

Oh yes, the postal outlet will even sell you an envelope and the required postage. :D :D

What do ya think

Sorry I'm a little late on this, but the problem for me was not a matter of trusting the Post Office. It was finding an address to send the donation to. I was going to send Fred a green in a plain envelope. Email or PM him and see if it ever got there.

Personally I feel Paige, Gina or Saffire are all trustworthy and have no problem handing a small donation to them to pass along to Fred. Problem, this would turn into a part-time job for these ladies, and I don't think it would be fair to any of them.

The one solution to this would be an MP willing to handle donations. Fred could give them a little advertising in return and they would probably also get some biz from the donors as well.
