I've been looking for some sort of media bridge to integrate my home theater with the content (pics and video) I have stored on the one computer I have set up as a server. It would seem as though the dlink dsm-320 is exactly such a beast?

I'm not looking for full control of the PC/server while in front of the TV, just something that would allow access to the drive(s) where I keep my media files.

Anyone have experience with this product or something similar?

I use the Linksys Media Extender and an XBox 360 which also acts as a media extender. Both work with Windows XP Media Center Edition (MCE). Basically, it allows me to hook up my MCE to my cable and digital cablebox and access all the channels from other rooms wirelessly. Works great as a PVR, accessing my pictures, listening to music, etc etc.

I did have some issues with my linksys SRS wireless and swapped it out for a Dlink A/G wireless router. Since then, no issues.

Here's a link. http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=006238&cid=NT.400

It doesn't seem to be that readily available in canada for some reason, but this place carries it.

Good luck ;)

installed the DSM-320 this evening with absolutely no problems whatsoever

only deviation from the instructions is that I updated the firmware first.....other then that straight forward

Tried the wireless connection first and although it was a little slow it worked fine, switched to wired and nice and quick. Now I just need to mess around in the basement with the cross connects so I don't have an ethernet cable snaking through the house. :)
